Property Management
After renting this property for about two years, the "inspection" was conducted by the property manager. We expected the full security deposit refund and a pet fee was not expected. Not only did the company retain ALL of the deposit and the pet fee amounting to of approximately 1500 dollars, an additional amount of $500 was demanded due to damage we supposedly inflicted on the property. Of course, differences of opinion do play into any such arrangement but, the discrepancy between what we believed to be fair and what the company deemed appropriate was so huge that we considered small claims court. The main reason we did not take that legal route was because the cost of the lawyer would just about equal what we would have undoubtbly won in court. We did not want to continue the negative energy that would have been required for a law suit. Renter, DO be on guard and DON'T expect that you will be pleased in how much of your deposit you get back in the end.
