Description of Work: Installed salt based water softener. Cory was responsive, informative and offered options without any attempt at up selling.He subsequently replaced our garbage disposal and installed new faucet. He is now our regular plumber. He is also HVAC but we haven't needed his service in that area yet.

+ -1 moreI asked Big Hog Plumbing (BHP) to replace an aging water heater in a rental apartment, and to also install a drain pan with an outflow to the outside of the apartment. BHP was at the job site for a little less than 2.5 hours, half of which was wasted by BHP installation of the outflow pipe, which should have taken less than 10 minutes if done smartly. I got a non-itemized bill a week later for $956. My estimate based on his previous work and labor charges was around $780. When I asked for details of the charge, after a long wait, BHP sent me an itemized list which included 3 hours of labor (BHP worked less than 2.5 hrs), charges for 3 cleaning rags, a broken drill bit (I have no idea what condition it was in to begin with), a 1/4 lbs of solder for soldering two copper pipes, flux, pipe dope, Teflon,... all the items that are included when you pay a plumber $85/hour. In addition, BHP added a 25% markup (over the list price) for all the trade items and hardware used. For me, it has been a trying and unpleasant experience working with BHP. I will never do business with BHP again.

+ -1 moreIt went very well overall. He was always on time and the work was done when promised.
Description of Work: We are trying to get our house ready to sell but the downstaris bathroom was a disaster. Plus an inspection discovered leaky drains. Checking the Better Business Bureau, we found Big Hog was the one with an A+ rating who was local and would be out timely. He redid the plumbing and fixed our leaks. He and his staff were professional, helpful and courteous. His motto is: "Putting the quality back into plumbing, while competitive and honest." We feel he does live up to his motto. By the way, his business name apparently comes from the fact he owns a Harley-Davidson.
