BELL TILE & MARBLE

1. On first face to face said they were very busy but would try to work us into their schedule. I should have known then. 2. Showed up about 1/2 hour late in the first evening for initial tear out. 3. The owner (or boss) did a walk through with the designer and myself and we outlined what exactly was to be done. 4. First day one person showed up 30 minutes late and another about 45 minutes late. 5. When they started to lay out the job it became clear that they had not talked with the boss and were laying out the tile completely wrong. When I tried to communicate with the workers they were very condesending and borderline arrogant. They packed up their equipment and left. 6. Met with the designer and boss again about a week later and went through the process again in great detail. 7. Same workers came back, both showed up about 15 minutes late at proceeded to do the job. One set the entrance tile and one worked on the fireplace stacked stone. 8. The fireplace stone was supposed to have 45 degree corners. The worker was extremely tired (he worked 9 hours that day without a break, just one glass of water, took two phone calls and went out and met someone in a car on the street for a couple of minutes and then came back into the house. 9. When I asked questions about his work he became very defensive and gave wierd excuses and answers that were not logical, his accent and command of English seemed to limit his communications. 10. The entrance ended up with a small tile going the wrong way, poor grouting, and they never finished the splash in the bathroom off the entrance. 11. The fireplace tile corners were very uneven, not meeting at a 90 degree outside corner, cracked stones in direct view, patched in tiles that did not match the width of the original, and one square of stack stone was put in upside down so it did not match the ones it was supposed to butt up to. 12. When they left they did not clean up their trash and left it out front of the house for about a week. 13. Upon the return today of the boss and one tile guy, they attempted to fix the problems but their work was so marginal that only a few of the real problems were taken care of. 14. I paid them the full amount as I did not want to communicate with them any more, I have been almost two weeks at this point, and I did not want them in the house any more. 15. They offered no apologies, not compensation, and no answers as to why the workmanship was so marginal. 16. They finally cleaned up their remaining trash and left.
