The first step was removing the old countertops.   Once removed, the smell of gas was very strong next to the gas stove.   A new wood floor had been installed the week prior and the stove had been disconnected/reconnected during the process.  The connection leaked.   Dave fixed the leak with new parts and double checked it during the installation.  That involved turning off the master gas shutoff.   Turning the gas back on involved relighting pilot lights.   We discovered the water heater had a serious leak (plus it was 10 years old).   He replaced that.   Getting to the hot water heater was a big job as my husband had a six foot shelving unit in front of it filled with heavy tools.   Leon removed all the stuff, moved the shelving unit, cleaned the entire area and then moved everything back.  I'm waiting for him to add 'organizing wizard' to his job description so I can hire him back again.  The counters are black granite and look beautiful.   It was joy to have these two gentlemen here and I would definitely hire either of them again.
