Roy's Pest Control & Tree Service

Wow. What a difference local ownership makes! July, 2019 We've used Roy's Pest Control since 2014. TJ & Matt (owner's sons) have always been responsive, courteous, knowledgable, and fair in their pricing. They deliver quality service and are a pleasure to do business with. Unfortunately for their customers, Roy's was purchased by Plunkett's Pest Control, a much larger, Minnesota-based company, earlier this year, and the customer service has gone down the proverbial drain. On Monday, 7/15, we had a swarm of flying ants. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of ants. After several unanswered calls to the local number and also to the toll-free national number for Plunkett's, leaving messages and asking repeatedly for a return call, on 7/18 (fourth day after our first call) we received a response, which basically said they wanted to discuss our contract. Ultimately, on the 19th, I actually spoke to a company rep. He, unfortunately, was in Illinois. After attempting to direct the blame for Plunkett's total lack of response on the former business owners/managers, staffing issues, and every imaginable unrelated obstacle, he indicated they were "bringing in a team" over the weekend to get the staffing situation under control, and that they were "in the process of hiring and training technicians." Throughout his excuse-laden response, the Plunkett's rep told me "honestly this," and "honestly that" ( said "honestly" at least five times) and, finally actually apologized that Plunkett's had failed so miserably. By the time he got around to the apology, I "honestly" didn't care, as it was quite apparent to me that Plunkett's didn't care enough to adequately staff a new company acquisition in order to meet client demand, didn't want to acknowledge where the responsibility for that failure should rest, and had no chance of retaining my business. Plunkett's may redeem themselves once they get on the ball in Santa Fe, but it was not a good first impression, and, honestly, it will be the only impression we ever have of Plunkett's.

The job was well done, area cleaned and debris removed.

Roy's returned my call promptly and arrangements were made for payment and to contact the tenants. The service was done within 48 hours of my initial call. I liked the way things were explained to me over the phone. My tenants gave me positive feedback, saying the technician who performed the service explained what he was doing and educated them about the insects in question. No further calls about big black bugs ruining an evening on the portal. Roy'so is now my go to for pest problems in Santa Fe.

Had evidence of pack rat and mice.  They inspected premises - inside and out and found sources.  Both issues were external and nothing inside to worry about (yeah!).  They recommended treatment and provided.  It worked well.  No more issues since.  Expect to have regular inspection to ensure no reoccuring problems.

They have been great.  They have come to my house before. I found them last year through Angie's List.  For some reason I kept the contact information under something different so I had to go back to the list to find them again. I called them Tuesday or Wednesday and they came last Friday. Again, excellent service. They came, they monitored everything.  They came, inspected the whole house again and put the monitors and everything was just fine.

We loved them. They were super super sweet. They even came back a second time to take care of some left over critters. They are very friendly, family owned and very professional. I thought the price was very worth the services that I received.

Every thing went well the first time when TJ came to spray the inside and outside for small insect control. Then I had them come back to spay our 12 Piand ntilde;on Trees for insect control Matt was very knowledgeable.

I have a major gopher problem... with tunnels and holes everywhere. I am not out to eradicate gophers but I do want them away from the house (they have an extra acre all for themselves) because I do not want to fall again in a hole or collapsed tunnel. I've used Roy's Pest Control for five years and couldn't be happier with the service. TJ and Matt are respectful of me and the property. They are always on time, always polite, and always listen. If, after a treatment, the gophers continue to tunnel the next treatment is free (there is a ten day window here).
