Santiago and his coworker did a thorough and professional job fixing the offset in our main sewer line. They worked efficiently to diagnose and fix the issue. We would definitely hire Roto Rooter again for big plumbing jobs but they are too expensive for around the house plumbing fixes. Also, they have a really great jingle.

I tried all the usual Liquid Plumber, etc., which were essentially useless. They brought in their high power rooter, which quickly did the job. The only minor problem was he came later than he originally said he would, and I wish it had cost less. Otherwise, I was completely satisfied.

We were amazed at how quickly they came once we called. They went to work quickly and found the problem VIA their camera. We could actually see where the kink in the sewer was and that needed to be replaced. They were amazed that we had this problem because our house is only 4 years old. They found that the builder didn't do a very good job because he didn't tramp the ground like it should have been done. Also, there was a rubber boot connector in the main line that was offset. One of the clean-out risers and one of the main line pipes were not glued so that wasn't up to code and Roto-rooter glued the pipes together. The only bad thing was that one of the workers leaned into one of the pipes and broke it off at the bottom so that had to be replaced. There wasn't a lot of room to work in and it was cold and damp. They fixed that and worked until after dark to make sure that we had use of our bathrooms that evening. Their supervisor also paid a visit while they were doing the project which made the whole ordeal quite professional. They even wrote on our receipt and promised a better writeup about how this was the fault of the contractor who built this house. We found it a good experience even though we were quite upset with having this happen in a new house that is being used only half of the year.
We thought what we paid was reasonable. The 2 guys who came out were nice and really hard workers.

I had had the same problem--the shower stopping up and sewage coming out on the floor and up into the shower--once before, in the summer of 2010.  That time Rotorooter used a long hose with water under pressure, inserted through the sewer vent on the roof, to blow away an obstruction below the toilet.  The procedure worked as it was supposed to, without complications.  This most recent time the plumber and his assistant decided to use a heavy-duty mechanical "snake", powered by an electric battery, to remove the obstruction, again going down the vent on the roof.  This procedure worked just as well and with less preparation than the high pressure hose.  I expected that it would be cheaper, too, but because both procedures had involved climbing onto the roof, the price was about the same.

Subsequently I have been alert for signs my shower was backing up.  The two times it happened, I applied a toilet plunger vigorously to the toilet, pushed out the obstruction, and the problem was solved.

Previously I used Rotorooter of Santa Fe for a couple of regular plumbing jobs, one of them fairly demanding--replacing a bathtub's water intake and distribution mechanism (more complicated than just faucets), going through a wall behind a kitchen stove for access and installing an acceptable access panel afterwards.  The plumber did the work neatly, promptly and professionally.

The entire experience was horrible. The technician was unprofessional, and they refused to warranty their work. They didn't use a snake or other cutting device. To the contrary, they used high pressure water. We suspect roots are the cause, and therefore the water did nothing. One week later, main sewer line is still clogged. $280 for 10 minutes of work that now has to be redone. I wouldn't wish their business on my worst enemy.

The plumber arrived promptly. He proceeded to try to open the drain using pressurized water from the roof vent, flooding the bathroom with sewage. I got a panicked call from my wife while I was at work about this, and had to leave work to attend to the problem. I found the guy on the roof, trying to feed a camera past the obstruction. He told me my line needed replacement. Then he had me assist him by running the compressor on his truck (he should have brought a helper to do this) while he injected more water into the obstructed line, causing more flooding. Then he told me nothing could be done unless we found the cleanouts at ground level. I had no idea where these were, having just bought the property a year before. He then stood there for an hour or so watching my wife and I frantically dig around the yard looking for the cleanouts. We were not successful. He then demanded a payment of $330 for his supposed "service", and left with a check (which I was only too happy to write as he was very intimidating and we had had enough of him) with our drains still completely obstructed. He did offer to replace the whole sewage line for $2000. I then called Cait Drainworks, who promptly found the ground cleanouts and opened the line for $120. I complained to Roto rooter, and they did nothing but cash the check. An extra bonus was a threatening call from the technician, angry that we had complained. These guys need to be reported to the AG
