Positive Energy Solar - Sante Fe

We have been extremely happy with Positive Energy Solar and its work over the entire duration of the project.  From our first exploratory meetings through PNM’s final meter set and inspection, the entire PES team was technically sound, focussed and efficient, and always willing to interact with us about any question. And all that within the constraints imposed by Covid-19.  Working with PES has been a uniformly excellent experience.

Positive Energy Solar provided excellent service from start to finish.  They were much more thorough in an initial assessment of the system than another company I contacted, and, unlike the other company, they did not press for a decision.  The design visit was also very thorough.  We knew just what we would be getting and how it would be installed.  Throughout the planning and execution of the project we felt well informed, and everyone who worked on the project was friendly and eager to answer questions.  Positive Energy Solar was also most helpful in guiding us through the paper work to have the system approved and to apply for the tax rebate.  We recommend this company without any reservations.

I would recommend Positive Energy Solar to anyone looking to have good quality panels installed and a worry-free solar installation done. They made the whole process so easy and handled all the details - and there are quite a few. They explained the whole process from start to finish and whenever I had a question during the process they responded quickly and professionally. The construction went smoothly, efficiently and on schedule. They even gave us step-by-step instructions on how to apply for our tax rebate and had all the paperwork arranged such that all  we had to do was sign and mail in the forms. It was solar made easy!

And now we get to enjoy being powered by the sun!

Positive Energy handled all the paperwork necessary for this installation, including permits, contracts with PNM, and instructions for obtaining the necessary tax forms for rebates.  Our price was higher because of the electrical set-up of our home, which they advised us before hand.  We were out-of-town on the day of installation, and returned home to a working solar system.  We have not had to do anything at all with the system -- it just works and PNM sends us a refund check for our extra electricity.  Everything was explained by Positive Solar, so there were no surprises.  We are extremely happy with both Positive Energy and our solar energy!

I could not be more pleased with Positive Energy.  From the initial contact, engineered solution, building permits, construction, inspections, and start-up, they were excellent.

Everything was superb, and I can recommend Positive Energy Solar without any reservations. I got bids from three companies, and while Positive Energy Solar was not the cheapest, it was the best by far. 
First, they used SunPower solar panels, which are this most efficient, highest quality panels on the market.  The panels were designed and manufactured by an American company. If we want America to succeed, we need to buy American products. Secondly, Positive Solar Engergy is a B Corporation, which are corporations certified to meet the highest social and environmental standards. 
In terms of the actual project, Positive Energy Solar's design team did an extremely thorough job planning a system that fit our home with its particular advantages and disadvantages.  For instance, we have a Northern New Mexican style roof, which is a corrugated metal roof at a 45 degree angle (or 12 by 12).  While the slope of the roof and its southerly orientation were pluses, the tin roof presented some challenges in terms of designing the rack system and installing the panels during the summer heat.  Indeed, we have had problems getting firms to work on our roof, as most companies take one look at our roof and tell us they can't help us..
The actual installation went off without a hitch thanks to professionalism of their crew.  The temperature reached 101 degrees on the day that they finished installing the panels.  It must have been like a furnace on the metal roof, but crew handled the heat and still were highly professional and a pleasure to deal with.  They far exceed all our expectations.
Positive Energy Solar also expedited all of the building permits, agreements with PNM, inspections, etc.  A company representative was on site for all inspections and was always punctual and knowledgeable.  They made the entire project go smoothly and rapidly.
Again, Positive Energy Solar is one of the best companies that we have ever dealt with.

The team from Positive Solar did an excellent job of engineering and installing my solar power grid tied system.  They handled the permitting process and the contract with PMN.  They arrived as scheduled and worked around my schedule when I had to be away on business and personal emergency.
The sales, engineering, project management and installers were all excellent.  Due to the engineering, permitting process, material ordering and work scheduling, this is not an overnight process, in reality expect to wait for a couple of month before your system goes on-line and you get to see your power meter running backwards.  But, worth the wait.
This was not the low cost bidder but I feel you get what you pay for.  I feel these guys will be here in the future if I have problems.

Installation was on time, look and works great.

Excellent, competent, fairly priced work from the first visit through warranty. Even did some extra work that solved an old electrical problem at no additional charge.

They were just wonderful. I needed a new roof in order to get the solar, so they had to kind of coordinate it.

Personnel were extremely professional and courteous regarding installation. Kept me informed of weather delays (high winds) and worked hard to make up time to finish as promised. Entire team worked together, helping each other out is able. Their attitudes depicted a very pleasant work environment.

They were great. I've used them twice and I'm very happy with them. They're prompt and conscientious. They also showed me how to save energy before they even put the system on my house. They're knowledgeable and I believe they are the only lead certified company in the state of New Mexico.

It was very good. The workers at Positive Energy Solar were helpful. They did an excellent job, it was well executed.

Overall, it went very well.  We spent three hours discussing various aspects of building plans, water procurement and off-grid lifestyle.  The communication between Allan, our builder/architect, and well driller was fantastic to watch.  Everyone respected each other's experience and expertise.  Allan made great effort to ensure that all of our questions were answered and went into great detail if requested.  If you are exploring solar options, I would highly recommend using Allan and Positive Energy early in the design stage of building a home.  I am convinced that many problems or misunderstandings will be avoided in this way.

I spent time with Allan on the phone initially to discuss the off-grid lifestyle.  He provided me with a great deal of reading material and then we had another discussion after I had a chance to read it.  I know he wanted us to understand and embrace our dream with a realistic approach.  After we had bought our land and selected an architect, I asked Allan to look over the plans and the site itself in preparation of building.  He was able to provide valuable advice that will save us money and grief once the building begins.  Allan also worked with our well driller to make sure we will have the best system in place to bring water to the home.  He communicates extremely well and doesn't rush anyone.  Allan has great passion for what he does and it makes working with him a pleasure.

Excellent clean installation, quotes, explanations, estimates.  Great interface with our roofer towards mounting.  Has exceeded our espectations, providing 95-100% of our electrical needs, even with newly purchased Chevy Volt electric car.
