J & P PLUMBING & HEATING

They spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem--checking electrical contacts with a meter, etc. One of the control valves was stuck and needed to be repaired but the replacement part that was on the truck did not work. They said that they could work around the system and key the furnace control to my kitchen thermostat. I agreed to do this on a temporary basis and asked for an estimate for the full repair that included possibly replacing all four zone flow controls on the 9 year old system. They owed me a call back a few days later after checking on parts availability but I never heard from them. As the weather turned cold my house did as well. The thermostats seemed to have no impact on heating. I checked all of the thermostats and only one of them actually activated the heat for the boiler--not the one that J&P had said they had connected. This presents a real problem as the working thermostat is in a room that is hotter than the rest of the house and is shut off (door) to maintain humidity. The experience with J&P is frustrating. They did find the stuck control valve but the work that was done was subpar and did not perform as represented. They also didn't follow-up and I now feel luck that they did not as I am now going to find a contractor who can actually repair my system.

THEY WERE RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE. THEY ALWAYS CAME WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO AND WERE NEVER LATE. I THINK THEY WERE ALL AROUND GOOD PEOPLE. THEY CAME A LONG WAYS TO DO THE WORK, AND I REALLY APPRECIATED IT.
