HomeWorkz Home Inspections

About us

Over twenty years experience as a builder enables me to bring a unique perspective to Home Inspections, and comprehensive capabilities to Home Improvement. I see things other Inspectors miss because I know houses from the nails out; from the roof in. I know them because I've taken them apart and rebuilt them. To ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, I personally perform all home inspections and oversee our teams of handymen and home improvement specialists.

We had Erik come to a house we were thinking about buying for a home inspection. He spent about 3 hours or so looking over everything. Although he caught a lot of minor items wrong with the house, he missed some big items which ended up costing us a substantial amount of money. When we moved in the house the first time it rained we had about a dozen leaks in the house. When we had two roofers come to the house, they could not believe that Erik did not recommend that the roof be maintenance and repaired. When we had Erik come back to the house to take a look at it, his comments were that the roof needed some maintenance, but every roof needs maintenance and that the roof visually looked good. When I took my foot and scraped an obviously worn piece of coating off the roof off, he stated that there was no way he could have noticed that. Well I noticed it after learning what to look for and I'm not a "professional" inspector. When asked if he was insured, unfortunately his answer was no. He did not even offer to refund the cost of inspecting the house which was miniscule compared to what the roof cost us; by the way we paid a premium for Erik vs. other home inspectors. The plaster walls were covered up with paint to hide the wet walls and that was not caught either. Had we known about the problems with the house we probably would not have purchased it or would have had the owners fix all the problems. Erik is a nice guy, but we would never use him or recommend him to anyone.
