Despite being a structural engineer, Mr. Levine asked me what to examine. I pointed out a few issues the previous inspector had noted. He looked closely at these, and a few possible others, but took no notes. After about 40 minutes of inspecting, he billed me for a shocking 3.75 hours (at $154/hr). He said this was because he drove from Santa Fe (a 55 minute drive from the site, at speed limit). He provided no written report or documentation of the inspection (except the bill). On top of this, he began phoning my home number at around 9pm to demand payment 6 days after the inspection (I sent payment via Bank of America electronic bill pay the day following the inspection, and sent him proof of that). This firm, and in particular this inspector/engineer do not conduct business in a professional, honest, or cordial way, and I would not recommend them.
