The entire experience was a disaster. The priced excalated as the contractor insisted that heating and insulation was not included in the bid. The fact was that he verbally told us that everything was included but then later said that it was not in writing. The project started late and many days there were family emergencies so the project lasted 6 months longer than expected. Property was damaged and stolen from us in the remodel. We told the contractor every time we noticed a problem. The items that disappeared included a Playstation and many games, 2 cameras (1 digital and one film), several home improvement tools to include a sawsall, cordless circular saw, and cordless drill. The contractor told us that he had let go the workers that he determined took our property. Unfortunately for us, he never rectified the situation. Damaged items included the wood floors, doorway molding, and bathroom tile. There were supposed to be 2 light fixtures (one over each sink) in the master bathroom but only one light was installed in between the sinks. The lighting is horrible. The existing heating system was damaged and never repaired. There was to be insulation installed in the ceilings to prevent noise in the lower level rooms however we can tell that it nevel was. The tiles in the bathroom were damaged so now there is an area with no tile behind the door. Obviously they thought we wouldn't notice. When the wrong windows were ordered for the kitchen and master bath, we had to pay for new windows or they said they would install what they had. Many items did not work properly when the project was finished. Several lights still don't work reliably, we've had to pay to have the heating and return system corrected, 2 light fixtures fell off the ceiling, we still have huge gouges in our wood livingroom floor, bi-fold doors were imporperly installed so several have fallen apart. If the lights stay on too long in one of the lower bedrooms or the upper bathroom it starts to smell light the beginning of an electrical fire. We paid another contractor to have the upper bathroom corrected, however the lower bedroom is still a problem. Apparently the incorrect wiring job could had started a fire. The neew roof material was installed incorrectly around the chimney. After the first rain, we had water damage in the basement, in our main living room area, and our sun porch area (inside and outside which damaged the stucco). The contractor fixed the leak however never fixed the damaged areas. Accidently shot a few nails into our main power box while insulating the garage wall. Needless to say, several switches in the main box were damaged. We had to call out an electrician when our power wasn't working and he showed us what had happened. There was a problem because they stuccoed over the phone box which then had to be ripped out and that very large hole still remains. The contractor installed an outlet in the peak of our garage instead of a light. Who needs an outlet 15 feet off the ground. Somehow the ethernet system that we installed got damaged during the drywall process. The list of little things that needed to be fixed was extensive. The contractor stopped coming and refused to finish punch list items without us paying more, again. This contractor was always trying to play the adults in the house against each other. He had no work ethics, no pride in work, and would lie to our faces. Stay away from this guy!
