Failure to arrive as scheduled - two business days late. I was notified by email that workers would be one day late due to an emergency. That was fine. But I wasn't notified of a second delay.
Failure of workers to identify themselves to a family member who stopped by the house. They wanted access to the garage, without identifying their company. There was probably a language barrier, which would make this excusable. The family member was concerned though, calling me to report suspicious activity. This is how I found out they were late. I couldn't be home at the time of service. Cassidy 's took advantage of this, decided it wasn't important for me to know when they would be on my property. With proper notification, there would have been no confusion.
Failure to follow up with a status update.
Failure to return my phone call when status update was requested.
Failure to fix the problem. A week after the workers were at my house, I still didn't know what was going on with the job - because the drip line was still leaking. Not a little leak that could be easily missed. After 10 minutes, water flooded the sidewalk and ran into the gutter, which has been a problem ever since the line was initially installed by Cassidy's a year and a half ago. I worked around this original mistake by programming short 5-minute watering sessions. Shame on me for not having Cassidy's fix the problem right away.
Failure to charge a fair and reasonable price. Labor charged: 2 men for 2 hours - to fix only one spaghetti drip line. Ridiculous. When I questioned the office manager about the bill, she said the charge included travel time to pick up a part not carried on the truck. The excuse is suspicious. It sounds like a way to boost revenue on small jobs. Either that or they came unprepared.
Failure to adjust the bill to reflect the appropriate amount of labor time. My mother took time off from her job, drove from Albuquerque to monitor the re-do. Yes, they did get the job done. The second time, it took only 1 hour, including another trip to the parts store.
Failure to respond to a written complaint.
