Alpine Builder's Supply

This is a conveniently located store in the historic section downtown of Santa Fe. I try to shop independent stores whenever possible. After years of putting up with disinterested and downright rude salesmen, when the person said they only took cash or checks and I had neither, their long standing policy, which I had forgotten, I planned to return later for another bout of gruffness to get the product I thougth only they had. Later that day, however, I went to an Ace Hardware for something else and they had the same product for $20, which Alpine had at $32, plus they were all delightfully fun & helpful (& had popcorn, which never hurts).
