During the changing of the battery, an over-eager mechanic (I am using that word very loosely) while taking out the old battery put his socket wrench across the battery connection and another electrical component and caused sparks to go everywhere. He jumped (I don't think he knew I saw him) and continued to finish the exchange. I didn't think that it hurt anything...I drove off.
About a mile up the road, my vehicle just died...making the power steering to quit...I barely got it off the road. I tried driving again...same thing, it died. I called the store, they said they were too busy to work on it today, they had a back-log of cars to get out!
I had to et another shop come and get me and they worked on it. It turned out, the shorting tool caused the computer that controls the engine to loose its memory.
I will never get Western Auto to touch my vehicle again! They have good prices on parts but they hire dummies to work in their shop!

It went okay. Everything was done as should be, but there was a day gap between when the tire was ordered and when it arrived, due to a clerical error at the Western Auto location (Hence the and quot;Cand quot; for THIS specific service date--normally a solid and quot;Band quot; to and quot;Aand quot;). The responsible individual owned up to it and all went according to Hoyle thereafter.
I've used their services at least four times before this for general auto mx, and they have been capable and helpful every time, with reasonable pricing and timely service despite their heavy customer load. I observe their customer service while waiting for my work to be done, and they are knowledgeable about the parts supply for a full range of vehcile makes and models, and they are unwaveringly courteous. They seem to have a lot of repeat customers, so my experiences converge with them.
I don't rate an auto service as an and quot;Aand quot; unless somethig above and beyond takes place on a consistent basis. These folks meet expectations, and it's consistent so far. I don't view a clerical error as a show stopper, particularly when the shop takes a problem-solving approach to addressing it.
