We purchased this home so I would not have as much to take care of since it was a new home. We knew at that time that my husband was in very poor health and might not have long to live. He passed away on March 28, 2011. Under warranty and fixed by someone else: Fiberglass shower developed a hole near the drain Things that were wrong and Shackelford fixed after threat of lawsuit: Replaced faucet on front porch that was leaking constantly, Replaced electrical box under light on back porch with the correct size box, Repaired hole in office wall, Removed dish from roof and filled holes, Placed drip guard over heat pump on roof Things that were fixed before we signed: Heat pump, Stained fence, Replaced loose faucet in bathroom Things the realtor’s husband repaired before we signed: Gate into backyard, Replaced light globes in entry hall (one was broken and had never been replaced) , Open electrical box beside the garage door inside, Mowed and cleaned the yard, Tightened thermostat on wall Things that I have had to replace or repair or still need to repair since John passed away: Insulate attic, Replace the roof vent for the dryer (wrong vent and the screen was welded in place), There is a trail of dirt inside the front door in 3 places when the wind blows, Windows have a collection of dirt where the top and bottom windows meet , Had to replace all door handles when the one into the garage broke in my hand (had ½ inch screws in the strike plate on the deadbolt at the back door.) , Handles on both bathroom doors will not stay latched , Phone jacks have to be repaired every time a phone cord is plugged in or unplugged, AC ducting in the attic was not properly finished, were not tied to the vents correctly, Can lights in ceiling did not have the finish trim installed , Microwave filter system not installed, No bumpers installed on cabinet doors 　 Things Shackelford did or did not do that were caused by inattention or something He never finished the covenants and filled them with the county, Gatedcommunity and the gate has never worked for more than a day or two and the remote access was never wired into the houses. He built all the houses in this cul-de-sac and the house to South of me is 2 feet over on my property and on the property line on the other side of the that house. The fence for that property is about 5 feet over on my property and their storage shed is mostly on my property. He just was not paying attention!
