I appreciate the promptness and professionalism displayed by the staff and technicians in the field. Very respectful and understanding of the seriousness of our situation. Very honest and trustworthy about the services they do. Thank you and I will be calling on you for air conditioning and heating issues that may arise in the future.

I have maintenance agreement. Called them on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm still haven't called back. Had surgery and it's sweltering hot. I've left 5 messages and still no return call.

You asked for detail: here goes! Paid all $4200 up front on charge card. My first mistake! They arrived timely, and Installer/Technician was intelligent and thoughtful, listening to my concerns about possible repairs to old ductwork - but nothing came of it. Ignored me though I left messages with their receptionist/scheduler also, but NO response from Boss-Owner/Estimator/John of potential new concerns. Boss, John, was not skilled in installing thermostat to wall (did NOT know how to program it for Auto, which allows easy switchover for heat/cooling in spring/fall when need both). I called Nesselrodt company, was told instruction manual was WRONG, and that it did NOT have an Auto setting. I called Honeywell and they coached me over the phone - it took 20 seconds to correct problem! Boss John had also turned off my gas, but denied it at first - later said he didn't remember. I remember! Tech understandably made a slight dust mess in a bedroom - going into old attic. I politely stopped him from cleaning it up with a giant shop vacuum - NO attachments at all for proper cleaning up and NO HEPA filter to stop debris from this job and priors from being blown throughout my home. Boss, however made a preventable mess over existing newer (7 year old) furnace when drilled thru old sheetrock to access attic for new plumbing chase and also on wall for thermostat attachment. Did NOT attempt to put cloth or his clip board over furnace vents, so old sheetrock dust went into the unit. Left mess on floor & phone bookcase when drilled the wall. Nor did they have proper vacuum to clean up either, so again, I stopped them - as did NOT want non-HEPA shop vacuum blowing their last job and this over my home interior. Trying to avoid respiratory problems as have asthma. Tried with Technician, to use my HEPA vac, but can't get into the Heater chamber with my tools either!) Requested they return with proper vacuum, but can only leave messages with polite 'employee'. In person at my home, both Bosses (brothers John and Trey) have refused to clean up furnace interior when asked to do so. Say it is not necessary. Boss, John, also capped the roof (old swamp cooler AC vent) but didn't allow Technician and me to look inside - as I'd requested - to check out concerns about my old ducting (60 years old)! Took 8 days to get a response for Boss to come back out; they missed first schedule appointment when I waited until 6:30 pm. My concern was moisture/sweat dripping into the ducting & on new copper unit during winter (from hot inside air hitting cold outside air), plus corroded metal duct adding more junk to inside air. Wanted vertical over-run capped closer to horizontal ducting to minimize both sweat and corroded air particles. (OTHER Professional installers suggested I do this!) I had to climb a ladder to discover they'd not advised me of potential problems, so I persisted! FINALLY, when both Bosses arrived on new day, they opened up roof cap to discover Boss John had double capped it - used my slide vent also and screwed it down; they said it couldn't be opened to see. However, Boss Trey offered to return next day at no charge, with my believing they would correct from inside attic. But misunderstanding ensued when they arrived next day - prepared to open from TOP-SIDE - and cap vertical duct LOWER - which in my opinion, would not solve either problem of my concerns. (Other HVAC professionals spoken with also agree with me.) As they arrived, I had just painted the new cap and rusted exposed metal with Rustoleum oil paint, (after first treating days earlier with vinegar to remove film on new galvanized metal and waiting for weather to dry out), and was getting ready to add Wet-Dry asphalt coating to that same part of my roof shingles - trying to beat a big rain storm next day - so water would NOT get into my house. I'm 62 and Nesselrodt Boss, John, did not advise me of problems now exposed on my roof when they finished taking off my swamp cooler. I had to climb the ladder after their $4200 AC job, to discover there was still more to do! Boss Trey became testy since he could not do as he'd offered day before - I reminded him the oil paint was just done and now very wet and would be 4-6 hours per the can. I suggested his going into attic as I believed he meant to do. Then he yelled at me, "Why did you wait until now to paint that cap! You had all week?" (I reminded him bad weather prevented that, plus I had doctor's appointments out of town - while waiting for them to return a phone call!) He politely said, "I'm sorry you had doctor's appointments." Then he accused me of "Not listening and just being argumentative! I also reminded Boss Trey that yesterday when taking off the insulated vent cap, but wouldn't open the slider vent/now under it - as your brother, Boss John, said it couldn't be done! All the while, Boss John has pulled up minutes prior in another van and is standing at the curb, arms crossed, and laughing, saying that NOT opening the roof cap the prior day DID NOT happen! That I'm imagining that! He's forgetting we didn't get to look into the vent - John had sealed it underneath! Boss Trey now states emphatically - what I offered to do yesterday, does NOT need to be done and I'm NOT going to do it! They both got in their respective vans, but leaving I said, almost in tears, "I'll be sure to recommend you all over town!" And this is why I'm putting this account on Angie's List. My recommendation is to NOT use Nesselrodt Heating and Cooling! The owner/Bosses behaviors are bullying, and unacceptable! It is also ageist, and no one, especially folks my age should be laughed at for asking questions, possible misunderstandings, and/or not hearing. Speak to us with respect and remember it is the customer paying their salary! I have spoken with two HVAC installers to look at my duct work and they both made it clear - YOUR CONCERNS ARE VALID! I will be paying one to have my duct work concerns corrected and won't be using Nesselrodt in the future - unless, God forbid, it is necessary warranty work and at their cost! Bottom Line: Buyer Beware if you use Nesselrodt of Roswell!
