I am thrilled to have found Terry! I have short hair that's really difficult to cut well. I've been to Terry several times now and have been extremely pleased with the results each time. She takes time to understand what clients want and is highly skilled. Also, she's a genuinely nice person.

It was fabulous! When I called for an appointment, I requested Terri Johnson. I had read the reviews of this salon on Angie's List and they were very good. When talking to Terri she was very outgoing and I felt very good about making the appointment. My husband and I recently moved to the Bernalillo area and quite honestly I was dreading looking for a new stylist. Terri put me at ease on the phone. When I arrived at the salon, Terri was at the front desk and greeted me with a big smile. Terri started by discussing with me options for my haircut. We agreed on a style and then she went right to work by giving me a scalp and shoulder massage. It was wonderful. Terri then washed and cut my hair. She was very meticulous. Terri gave me an updated look without going drastic. I really appreciated that. I was so impressed that I have another appointment in 5 weeks. I told Terri that she was now 'stuck' with me. She laughed. I would highly recommend Terri Johnson.

Terry did a great job in matching my color and giving me a good-looking and easy-to-maintain hairstyle. She is the third stylist I've been to since moving here and did the best work, by far. Her salon is pleasantly decorated (no loud jarring music or blaring TV), in an easy-to-find location with plenty of free parking.

I called asking about my daughter's hair as she colored her entire head of hair with a teal dye she bought on the internet. It was fun for the first day or so but 2 months later it needed to go. The person I spoke with on phone happened to be the color expert and gamely took on the project. She tried washing out a bit of the color with bleach and a little shampoo to gently lift some color then she tested a strip to see how her hair would take the dye. It was discovered that the darker hair color wouldn't be enough so she went to the color wheel and tried straight red to counter act the green which made her hair a gunmetal tinted green!!! Alas it came about she just had to bleach out the old color and color it with a shade that my daughter chose. The stylist took great pains to think through the problem and solve the dilemma. She persevered and my daughter left the salon with the best solution she could hope to achieve given the circumstances. She loved the new color!!!

I have been going to Terry at The Place Hair Salon for over 5 years. It was very difficult finding someone to do my hair when I moved to Albuquerque. I must have gone to 6 different places trying to find someone who could cut and do highlights the way I wanted them done. She is amazing! She listens to you, has great suggestions and will re-do if you aren't happy {I have never had to take her up on that offer!). I moved from Albuquerque 3 years ago and started to look for someone to do my hair in my new town. I gave up. I drive 250 miles each way to have my hair done by Terry. She is always accommodating to my schedule. If you are looking for someone who can do your hair the way you want it done, Terry is the one for you.
