Remodel started in late November 2010 with very slow progress. Seems like this contractor always had an excuse for being late or absent. He was paid half up front and the second half later in order to purchase more materials. The work performed was of good quality. Around the second week in February 2011, we began to hear from the vendor/ subcontractor for both the granite and the cabinets, telling us that he had not paid them and threatening to lein our home. When we approached the contractor about it (when he felt like returning his calls), he told us to leave it up to him, he would get them paid. To date(March 22), this has not been resolved. He also gave our address to a carpet company who threatened a lein for carpet purchase/installation. Apparently, this was for another one of his jobs, as we never purchased any carpet. He told his vendors that we had not paid him in full, so he did not have enough to pay them, which was a lie. We would never hire this contactor again nor recommend him to anyone.
