Doug was able to respond to my request within a day of our first call.  Our steps had settled and so cracks and gaps had opened up.  Doug did the best he could to repair the steps and make them safer.  We originally agreed on $100 but he spent 4 hrs on it and $150 seemed much fairer.

The work was all done by the owner of the company, Doug Ring, and one assistant. They were very professional, personable, and punctual. They were very adaptable to our plans and Doug was very helpful in bringing our plans to fruition. He is a skillful flagstone cutter and bricklayer which all enhanced the quality of the paths and patios. We were and continue to be very satisfied and would definitely hire them for future projects!

Turns out Doug Ring had stripped the bubbled polyurethane (contractor hadn't let bricks completely dry) off the new brick floors in our 1979 addition way back in 1981. At the time he recommended that we not re-apply polyurethane but he sealed the floors with his own formula and then recommended that we wet-mop them routinely and then go over them with a dust-mop treated with a janitorial product called Velvasheen. That's how we cared for them for almost 35 years, and they always looked great! However, when we needed to sell the house earlier this year we realized that the brick floors needed a face lift so I got on Angie's list and had a couple companies come to give bids. Both recommended stripping the bricks and then applying polyurethane again. Both bids were over $1,000 and one might have even been $1500. Feeling that this was more than I wanted to spend and knowing that the floors didn't need stripping I tried one more company...Ring Brick and Stone. Mr. Ring came out and said that the floors didn't need stripping, just a thorough cleaning and then a re-oiling. His bid was $500, and he made an effort to fit the job in right away. It was only after the work was done that we realized he was the same person who had dealt with our bubbled polyurethane problem almost 35 years ago! He's honest, hard working and not out to gouge his customers. Plus, he does a great job!

The floor was relayed as well as possible considering the only way to do a comprehensive job would be to remove all the baseboard cabinets. Yikes!

Both my wife and I were very pleased with the work done and the fee charged. We are planning on using his services in the near future.

We asked Doug to pave a portion of our patio; gave him the job because of his low bid. He did nice work, bricks level and tight, and with an artistic curve to borders without large gaps. He was careful about existing plants and irrigation systems. Work was completed promptly. Cleanup was pretty good, although I will have to move the extra bricks myself. There were quite a few extras, I'm not sure if that is unavoidable because of they way they are shipped/packaged or if he ordered too many. But I am happy with some extras for future projects. Upon paying, we found that he had neglected to add the price of bricks into the total, although he had listed them on the bid. So it was a bit more expensive than we anticipated, probably an honest mistake on his part - but keep your eyes open and add up the totals!

They are very professional, they do really good work. They do beautiful flagstone work, I've had them do it in the past and recently. They are prompt, honest, pleasant and their talent is with their stone work. They job was great. It was a one day job, it was completed and they didn't have to come back.

When the owner of the business showed up on the job-site my contractor asked if he needed to cover furniture, cabinets, and other areas in plastic and was told that this was part of the floor service. Apparently no assistant showed up for the job and the owner asked my contractor if he had anyone he could hire to help -unfortunately he did not. Judging from the photographs forwarded by the contractor the next day when he returned to the job site, it was very obvious that Doug Ring had not covered any surfaces with plastic despite promising the opposite. 6 months later and I am still mopping up red brick dust from all surfaces and change the air filter as often as twice a month -the mess was a disaster. Also, I think only one coating of oil was applied to the brick surface, in a week it looked like it really needed an additional coat. I believe we were taken advantage of because we were not in town when the work was performed. The work itself was very good and I believe they properly restore brick without sealing the surface in plastic but a little preparation on the front end of the job would have protected our possessions, and saved us funds spent on trying to clean the ceilings, bathroom, kitchen and other areas from tons of red dust.

I hired them because of a referral from a handyman and then saw their ad in the local paper. They were extremely pleasant to work with and executed the job exactly as I wanted, but with great input on design and construction from them. The project was completed in a timely manner and withing the estimated budget. Their price was very competitive. They've been in business for 25 years and also install and refinish brick and stone floors. They also manufacture and sell products for sealing and caring for brick and stone floors called Ring Brick Floor Sealer and Ring Brick Floor Keeper.
