Good Dog Training

excellent. Diane and her husband have a small, clean facility with a large area for the dogs to play and run. If your dog is shy or disabled, your dog will not be running with the other dogs. Both Diane and Tom check on the dogs regularly. My dog becomes excited a mile from arriving at Good Dog Training.

Diane returned my call very quickly and was able to come to my house within a day or 2 to assess the situation. She was reasonably priced and very knowledgeable about dog behavior. Diane gave me suggestions on working on the issue and I decided to enroll in her training classes to get hands on guidance from her on a weekly basis. My dog and me look forward to our training sessions and Diane is a caring and motivational trainer. I am beginning to see improvements in my dogs interactions and also in my confidence in handling them.

The end result was I am walking my dog myself. That was supposed to happen. The trainer was great. Her training was a positive style. My dog was very responsive to her. She trained me to be able to get him, to stand by me and walk with me in my wheelchair. That was good. I would give A down the line.

Her dog classes are highly organized and helped my dog. She is extraordinary when she works with your dog one on one. She never uses choke chains or painful corrections--only positive reinforcement. She's really helped me understand what my dogs and what they need.Her kennel is very clean with large spaces for the dog to sleep and she has a huge outdoor space for them to run and play. This is a small kennel with personalized care. She and her husband spend time with the dogs when they stay there. My dog loves going there and gets extremely excied when he sees Diane.

It was good. They took good care of them. It was the first time I had taken my dogs anywhere, and I was happy with them. I think their price was reasonable. They were a little less expensive than other kennels I checked on.

Incredible! Our son moved home with his dog who is sweet but terrible high-strung. She would become hysterical whenever any of us returned home and within a few weeks, our dogs were joining in the frenzy at the door. It got to where we dreaded coming home, so I contacted Good Dog Training based on the comments on Angie's List. Diane came to our house and observed the behavior firsthand. She confirmed that the dogs were too exicted in the moment to apply any training, e.g., sit command, and explained that it was first necessary to divert their attention when we arrived home. She and I practiced coming in the house several times with bits of treats (tossing them away from the door) and within 20 minutes, they were no longer rushing us at the door and Roxy's hysterical behavior was gone! After a couple of weeks, we were able to give them treats occasionally instead of every time we returned home and now we only do it once in a great while. Now we return home to three large dogs with wagging tails who greet us near the door while sitting nicely! The and quot;fixand quot; was so simple, but not something we had ever imagined. I really appreciated that Diane explained what was going on and how to address it step-by-step, and that her remedy didn't involve punishment.

Shortly after obtaining my Dalmatian puppy, I had to travel outside the country for a few weeks. I searched for a good kennel and saw only very large, commercial kennels until I located Good Dog Training and Kennels. I left my puppy there, and when I returned I was pleasantly surprised that Diane had been using my little one in her puppy class. The dog behaved so much better than when I left her at the kennel, I continued with the puppy and adult classes. Two years later, with Diane's advice, I purchased a second dog (Standard Poodle) who I took through the same training processes. I have never owned more than one dog, and much to my surprise these two adore each other, play all the time, and would never have been as happy alone! This is all due to Diane's wisdom about canines, including breeds, genders, and ages that would work well together. The training necessary for both breeds was distinct in certain ways, and Diane addressed that with me. Any time I have run into problems, she has provided further advice and help. She is an EXCELLENT trainer! I have learned a tremendous amount from her. And I would never go elsewhere for training or boarding.

I felt that my dogs were well cared for. The facility is private, small and very clean. There is a large excercise area, which is supervised by the owner when the dogs are out. She also has closed circuit tv in the kennels that can be viewed from her house. I am glad to know there is someone that I can call if I need to be out of town for a short time.

I've used Good Dog Training and Doggie Resort for a couple years now. I've got a hectic work schedule requiring me to make many last minute trips and many changes to trip durations while I'm on the road. They are very accommodating. My dogs love to stay there--they jump in the car every time I have to leave on a trip. Cost is about $30/day for my two dogs staying in a single large kennel (two ~45 lb dogs). The location is a little remote, but it is worth the trip!
