Billy Montgomery has been our landscaper for a number of small jobs around our yard. Overall, my husband and I have been extremely pleased with his work and his affordable prices. Billy is very meticulous with his work - he makes sure that everything meets his standard and of course the homeowners standard. He is very easy to work with and very friendly. In addition, he is good at listening to the homeowner with regards to what they want, and will make good suggestions on how to best make the homeowner's ideas work. Since he is trying to get his own business off the ground, his labor charges are quite low compared to other landscapers that we received quotes from in the Albuquerque area. The following is a list of some of the projects that he, and his family did on our yard. 1. He planted four trees and ten shrubs. He gave us good recommendations on the types of trees and shrubs that we should plant. Billy is quite knowledgeable on this since before starting his own business, he worked at a local nursery. 2. He helped us finish laying our back patio. Our patio is built of oblong shaped concrete pavers. His main task was to cut the edge pavers so that they fit flush at the edge between the patio and house. He also cut a number of pavers that formed the edge of the patio and surrounding yard so that they looked aesthetically pleasing. He was quite meticulous with cutting each paver making sure that the final result looked great. Billy also helped us finish off a side walkway which was formed from the same pavers. He had to cut a number of those pavers and the final result also looked great. 3. Billy helped us finish our 60 ft long retaining wall along the side of our house. The wall was built from natural stone, and the travertine top was difficult to mount on the stone due to to its natural variation. Billy shaved each stone and mount the travertine top with concrete. He also tested the stability of the wall and discovered that a few of the stones had to be relayed. The final result of our wall looks great.
