James was very good about responding and assuring me he could do what I was wanting. No tiles have broken and everyone compliments our porch tile.

James came to the house to look at the job. The tile was VERY hard, thick and hard to drill. He sent me an estimate that I thought was reasonable and then scheduled me in. He arrived with the proper drill bits and tools and did an excellent job. I would recommend them and use them again. We were very happy with both his price and quality of work.

HONEST, RELIABLE & HARD WORKERS. James and crew at Tiles Unlimited did an amazing job installing my tile. Everyone on the team was very talented and friendly. LOTS OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL. They took their time to make every cut perfect and it really shows. 100% would use again.

Building a house is an extremely frustrating experience. Finding good trades to accomplish the work well and on time is one of the hardest parts we underwent. I spoke to five different tile companies in search of a qualified team to lay large (20x20) tiles on a diagonal throughout the whole house with no baseboard trim. I was astonished by how many of them could not or would not do the job. I was told repeatedly that I "had to have baseboard" because there was no way to tile to the wall without a thick grout line. Enter James and his team from Tiles Unlimited & Remodeling... His response to my request was: "No problem; we can handle that for you." He offered me pictures, references, and examples of the work I was looking for (diagonal/no baseboard). He was a consummate professional from returning my very first phone call, to showing up on time every single day, to fixing any problem he came across without issue or complaint. In fact, we were so pleased with his work that we ended up adding in an accent wall and hired him to paint the whole house as well! His work was so thorough that he ended up fixing drywall issues, which saved us time and money by not having to call by the drywall crew back. Every single person that works on his team is respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. James and his team made sure my husband and I were happy with each completed project. His tile work is exquisite; he pays attention to detail with symmetry and levelness and design. He had creative ideas I hadn't even considered and I was delighted to take his advice. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Tiles Unlimited & Remodeling for any of the services they offer. Our home came out beautifully thanks to James and his team!

The reasons I continue to work with James are the quality of his work and the caliber of the working relationship.  James listens to what your objectives are, produces ideas and solutions to technical challenges and is always most focused on my satisfaction with his work.  He has always been willing to go the extra mile for my satisfaction.  My wife and I both regard Tiles Unlimited as our go to company for additional refinements and modifications. James keeps you aware of all timing and scheduling factors and you are never left in the dark about when things will happen.  He will call you if he thinks he's going to be ten minutes late.  I have never found myself wondering when things would happen.  James makes your convenience a priority and this sets him apart form many contractor service providers in my estimation.  I have a background in construction and contracting and know the good from the bad, the professional from the lame.  James is the best in my book for upholding the values that create repeat customers of which he has many.  All members of his crew are polite and courteous and go out of their way to reinforce the standards of his company. The job is always on time and usually under anticipated budget.
James works within your budget, never tries to upsell and produces options all along the way.
I would most gladly recommend him to others and look forward to the next two projects i have already scheduled with Tiles Unlimited for this summer.  There are many contractors purporting to provide the same services, but very few could hope to measure up.
I am grateful to James for the good value I have received for the money invested.  Our home and working environment have been very much improved from his labors.
This is a great company to work with.

Please don't make the mistake I made in picking Tiles Unlimited.  On my remodel job the owner James Gutierrez demonstrated that he doesn’t care about quality, good workmanship or customer satisfaction.  His sole priority and goal was finishing the job quickly and he cut any corner possible to achieve that goal.  The Tiles Unlimited crew completed less than third of the work on my shower and tub surround tile remodel – at which point I had to fire them because: (1) Mr. Gutierrez failed to provide adequate supervision of his workers and his plumber, which resulted in unnecessary costs added to the project, (2) Mr. Gutierrez's got very angry because I took photographs of the poor workmanship issues, and (3) Mr. Gutierrez's unwillingness to properly fix workmanship problems that I brought to his attention. With regards to unnecessary costs on the project, I had to pay: (1) $260 to repair the shower half-wall that was damaged during install of marble shower pan by provider recommended by Mr. Gutierrez, (2) $300 to re-install faucet valve hubs in order to comply with the product specifications, (3) $200 to correct the tub faucet rough-in which required a threaded connector, (4) $50 to correctly repair the hole in shower wall sheetrock made during the shower pan install, and (5) $60 to purchase additional cement board and other materials.  These unnecessary repairs and re-works delayed the completion of our remodel project by over 3 months. In addition to the almost $900 extra that I had to pay to repair the poor workmanship issues, my master bathroom was a construction zone and unusable for more than 3 months. To get my remodeling project completed, I solicited bids from five contractors to repair and complete my master bath tile remodel.  On their initial site visit, they all had similar reactions to the work performed by Tile Unlimited.  Here some quotes: “Wow, very rough, amateurish; the hole in sheetrock needs to fixed with cement board not mortar, the faucet hubs are not installed correctly, the tub faucet rough-in is wrong.”  Two of the five contracts opted not to bid, which I suspect was because they didn’t wish to take the risk of finding other problems. I award the project to Ortega Tile. They were willing to fix the remaining workmanship issues at a reasonable price.  I’m very grateful that Ortega Tile because his team did a beautiful tile job.  In talking with Mr Ortega recently, I found out that James Gutierrez of Tiles Unlimited had called him just prior to start of the work -- the purpose of Mr. Gutierrez to criticize and berate me; this is a sterling example of the type of professional behavior you can expect from Tiles Unlimited. If you are considering hiring Tiles Unlimited, please understand that what you get are two young hard working installers that are under trained and under supervised. Mr. Gutierrez, when he was at the work site, spent his time checking text messages and posting photos to his Facebook.  I noticed that Gutierrez posted photos of my master bath (without my permission) on his Facebook, with the caption “I’m going to start doing these jobs blindfolded”; these words are so prophetic given the poor workmanship Tiles Unlimited demonstrated on my remodel project. For the reasons that I have explained in this review, I give Tiles Unlimited an F- grade.  This rating is probably generous, but it is definitely well earned by Tiles Unlimited.
Response from Tiles Unlimited & Remodeling
"In September 2014 Angie’s List featured Tiles Unlimited Big Deal it was $1499 tub shower surround. Of which Angie’s List was paid and took out advertising fee and paid us $1,199. Two customers purchased this deal, one being (member name removed). The other customer gave us great rating on Angie’s List. The way it was worded was confusing and had to be explained to both. Any additional work was left for us to charge. We sincerely tried to make (member name removed) happy any way we could. He took SEVERAL MONTHS to even decide what tile he wanted. The deal included simple tile for the walls, but (member name removed) wanted to find his own. He had a stand alone shower and separate tub next to the shower. (member name removed) thought the deal included his separate tub and the area around it as well as the entire shower. He went back and forth changing his mind often on tile, patterns, diagonal, nicho, deco, tile shower pan, cast iron shower pan, cultured marble material, and grab bar installation. We also made SEVERAL trips to (member name removed) house at his beckon call to discuss whatever he had in mind. He finally decided to go with a cultured marble shower pan and researched and researched online. We simply suggested a local company Francisco’s Marble. We also mentioned they would have to install it as it is their product and we could not warranty someone elses’ pre-fabricated material. He went to Francisco’s Marble and paid and contracted them separately. Francisco’s Marble damaged some of the work we already did and we were prepared to fix their damage for free. We also did not charge extra for the 2 X 6 reinforcements we installed behind wonderboard for grab bar installation. Shower pan was no where in the Big Deal purchase. Also, (member name removed) was given his choice of plumbers to use and asked us who we use, as he had extensive additional plumbing also not included in deal. The plumber we use is not affiliated with Tiles Unlimited and never had any issues with any of our customers he was also separately paid by (member name removed). The plumber also made several trips to double triple check his own work and nothing was wrong. On MULTIPLE occasions (member name removed) would call the night before or a couple hours prior to our arrival and cancel progress or delay until afte 2pm as he had a doctors appointment. He had MANY doctors appointments that hindered progress from Tiles Unlimited. We were growing impatient about all the doctors appointment delays and mentioned to (member name removed) that we wanted to get his job finished and that is when he fired us. We feel we were not given adequate time to complete our scope of work. All in all we sincerely tried to please (member name removed) and save him money by suggesting vendors he may want to check out. The choices were ultimately his as he did not want anything simple as the deal was meant to be. We wish (member name removed) all the best."

James and two of his installers arrived on time to take measurements and give me an estimate.  The price was agreed to and he said he could start the next morning.  The whole team of three arrived the next morning and tore out the existing backsplash, which was a botched job from another company. They also removed and replaced the drywall.  They had all the new tile installed by the end of the day.  They returned the next morning to grout the tile, fix the trim and paint around the edges.
Our faucet for the reverse osmosis knocked over during the installation. It was discovered the faucet was installed improperly by the contractor we used. James and his team took the time to install it properly at no extra charge.  The job was totally done in only two days.
I would highly recommend Tiles Unlimited to anyone considering them.  Our experience was fantastic.

Everything was great. James and his team were always punctual and was always available by phone.
I requested a reduced price since I was willing to remove the carpet and was given a great deal. James still removed the carpet in the den and bathroom, and hauled it away as a favor - no extra charge. I don't know if he would do that again.
It took one day to lay the tile in the living room (about 400 sqft) they grouted the next day. He could have started on the den but I didn't have the furniture moved or carpet removed. The next morning was when he removed the carpet and tiled the floor for the den and bathroom. It took about half the next day to finish grouting. James always left the house clean every day. Besides doing great work I can also say that James seems like a great individual. He takes a lot of pride in his work. I was worried about some areas next to the stairs that would not cover the edges of the tile with a baseboard, but James' work was outstanding with all the visible tile cuts done beautifully. I plan on using James with the next project upstairs in the master bedroom. I would definitely recommend, and have recommended, him to my friends.

I had already purchased the tiles, fixtures, RedGard and grout, but
found out installers did not want to follow the manufacturer's specs.
Then I found James who stepped in with a great attitude, ability and
creativity. Of all the installers with whom I spoke, James is the
only installer who was willing to install products according to the
manufacturer's specifications! He worked with me to accomplish the
best outcome. His stated goal is to do the best work he possibly
can. I am very particular - wanting things done the right way - and
am quite pleased with the outcome. A beautiful installation in each shower.
I will be sealing the showers within a few days. I believe that James
is among the most knowledgeable of installers regarding Custom
Building Products, and I believe he could be so with any other
manufacturer's products.

James and his Diego always put down a plastic walkway to the bathroom, they would set up their equipment every day and break it back down before leaving. Not once did they leave a mess anywhere. At the end of every day James would re-cap the progress made and go over the next days expectations. I had picked the wrong tile for the floor, turned out it was a little un-even. James did not just install it, he came to me and suggested I might want to make a change, which I did. Thank Goodness.
