it went crappy. my insurance co. USAA didn't send over anyone to inspect it after it was "completed.;" therefore, they did not do a "complete re-roof" as stated in the contract. I also continued to have leakage. I called them to please come and do the job they had stated they would do as I am also going to put my house on the market and it will not pass the inspection due to their idiocy. I now have to pay AGAIN to have that part of the roof done.

It was such a traumatizing experience that it's taken me over a year to write about it. Smith and Ramirez portrays itself as a reputable company. Before we hired Smith and Ramirez, we interviewed several companies and did our due diligence through reviewing Angie's List, BBB, and other review sites. We thought they were a safe bet. We were very wrong. Dealing with Smith and Ramirez was by the far the most stressful, expensive, and time consuming process we've ever dealt with as homeowners. Smith and Ramirez did sub par work that had to be redone 4 times over the span of 9 months before they finally got it right. Mr. Smith, one of the owners, is probably one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant people I have ever encountered. He completely refused to take responsibility for the shoddy work of his first crew, even though his subsequent crews confirmed the work's shoddiness. Instead, he demanded the rest of the payment, although services had not been fully rendered, including the final walk-through and city inspection. The second crew repeatedly did not show up to our home and our roof remained unfinished for months. I found out later it was because that crew had been fired. I was not informed by the company at the time, and a new crew or resolution was not presented. All we wanted was our roof to be completed properly. In the meantime, Smith and Ramirez placed a lien on our home. So, we were left with a lien and an unfinished roof. After countless phone calls, emails, and letters to Smith and Ramirez and its attorney, a third crew came to our home. The roofer's office manager was actually a lot more helpful and professional than the owner in arranging the third crew. The work was going along better this time, and we thought our plight might soon be over; however, the foreman was fired by Smith and Ramirez mid-way through the job. Months later, and at this point mostly just communicating with the attorney, we got a fourth crew from out of town, This crew finally finished our roof in 2 days. Two days! Our whole horribly time consuming, expensive, and stressful experience could have been alleviated if Smith and Ramirez had only sent a competent crew to begin with or even on the second go around. We also had legal fees to pay for the lien and to release the lien, all of which could have been avoided with competent, professional service the first time. My advice: Avoid at all costs. If there is an any issue with your roof, this company will not help or take responsibility. Like I mentioned before, this was an incredibly traumatizing and expensive debacle.

It not only went well but better than expected. They helped me discover the issue at hand even though it was not a roof problem. And best of all, free of cost. For that I am very appreciative! Thank you!

I received several estimates from area roofers, but Mr. Nate Zeke with Smith and Rameriz stood out from other estimators, by not only demonstrating roofing expertise, but also an in depth knowledge of insurance policies and procedures. In addition, he expressed a sincere interest in meeting any concerns that I had with the project. I might add that my insurance company, USAA, was very cooperative and responsive with my claim.
