My initial impression of Home Repair Contractors was good. They were sent out by my home warranty company to investigate a plumbing leak. They scheduled the appointment promptly and the technician showed about a half hour late. He investigated the leak and determined that it was coming from a gap between the grout and the tub. He had to cut open a hole in one of our walls and before I authorized him to cut into it he assured me that they would trim out the opening to leave a permanent plumbing access. Once he determined the source of the leak he advised that he needed to contact my home warranty company to get the repair authorized due to the cost. This is when the trouble began. After a week of no call back I contacted Home Repair Contractors and they told me that my warranty company denied the claim. I asked why they hadn't bothered to tell me and they offered no explanation, nor did they apologize. I contacted my home warranty company and they advised me that they had not denied the claim and that they were waiting on documentation from the contractor. They advised that they would follow up and get back to me. About an hour later they did advise that they finally received the information from the contractor and that, yes, the claim was denied. I asked about the hole that remained in my wall and they advised that the contractor should have closed it up doing a rough patch, meaning drywall tape and mud, but no sanding and texture. I advised them that the contractor told me he would be adding trim around the drywall to leave an access and they told me that was between me and the contractor. So I called Home Repair Contractors again and spoke to Glen. I described what had happened and he indicated that they would not be taking care of the trim and that his technician never said that. Why would I lie? In his defense he did offer to come back out to put the drywall tape and mud, but I declined as the prior technician had already done so much damage, i.e. lousy cut, drywall mess left everywhere and a much larger hole than I would have authorized had I known they were not going to trim it out. I feel that an appropriate response by the owner of a company would have been to honor what his staff said.

After calling for an estimate, Gary came out on the day selected and arrived on the minute of the time we had scheduled. We showed him the jobs and he gave us the approximate cost. After my husband agreed, his office followed up by calling to set an appointment. The repairmen arrived and did the work quickly, efficiently, and competently. A few days later Gary called again and asked us if we were happy with the results. Indeed we were! Highly recommended.

We first met HRC through our decorator when the company was brought in to patch drywall during remodeling of our master bath. It's people were so professional in appearance and manner that we expected them to be expensive. They weren't. Later we employed them repeatedly to handle various jobs that arose during protracted remodeling of our house. In every job we assigned to HRC, work was delivered on time and meticulously performed. The new fibreglass French doors rejected stain, but the HRC painter just kept at it until the color was right. The accent paint he applied inside the house was beautifully exact. The workmen were reliable, pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. Every job was inspected and approved by supervisory personnel. We could not have been more pleased with the work that HRC did for us. We expect to continue to call on them for any additional work we need done. Before we encountered HRC, we thought of a handyman as someone who does home maintenance work that does not need special skill or expertise. We now see it as a term that describes one more skill set in a professional home repair contractor's repertoire.

They are wonderful. They did what they said they'd do and when they said they'd do it!!! The shower is a work or art. They had money saving suggestions and consulted me through each decision. These guys are great!

I prepared a punch list of all the items to be done to get the house ready to rent. I submitted it to Gary, the owner of HRC and asked him for a bid. He provided a detailed bid based on my punch list (which is the basis for the description above). The last 4 items were added as the job went along. I told Gary I wanted to get done as close to the end of June as possible but the exact date was not critical since July and August are the best months to get a house rented. Gary warned me that he had commitments for a couple jobs that would interrupt the work for me and I agreed that he could meet those commitments even though that would mean some disruption while things were being worked on.
Gary's people are skilled at their trades, careful in working and cleaning up and professional in work habits, ethics, trustworthiness and timeliness. I've used HRC for lots of smaller jobs before but this was the biggest one to date by far. Gary and his workers kept me posted on when they would be at the house and what they would be doing. They called before coming except when we had made a specific schedule arrangement. They showed up when they said they would and called if something happened to change the planned schedule. Gary's people are hard working and independent but Gary stayed close to what was going on and came to check and make sure about any issues on a regular basis. The overall process was painless.
I prefer emailed invoices and Jody has been very helpful with that, as well as taking a credit card over the phone for payment. I'm very pleased with HRC. I know I will get quality work, done as I want it and good value for the money. They are not the absolute cheapest people who are doing work in the area but if you want consistent, quality work done on a timely basis, they are a great choice and are worth what they charge. They also are reasonable about charging for the work and not looking to nickel and dime the customer with minor little things during the course of the job.
Highly recommended.

This was a very good experience. Greg was here for two hours, and his work was careful, thorough, and knowledgeable. The antenna project was not completed on the inside of the house, because more cable was needed, and he said he was not "a cable guy". I appreciated that he did not try to work on what he did not feel qualified to do, and we have a temporary setup at a window that will be fine until we get the cable guy. I felt the price was reasonable, considering the time spent, the care taken, and having to go up to the roof. I feel quite comfortable in using this provider again.
