During our 11 days in the hospital, Dr. Harrison came in daily. She offered many good suggestions about how I should care for the baby. The best part was that she always told me why I should follow her advice. Knowing the reasoning behind her directions made them much more meaningful and easier to remember and follow.
After we left the hospital, I took the baby to several check-ups with Dr. Harrison, since he was so young. She did a great job of coaching me. She also did very well when the baby's biological parents showed up at appointments, helping them to understand their son's development and how they could help him.
I was so impressed with Dr. Harrison what I switched both of my children, 2 and 3 at the time, to her office. She worked well with them in their check-ups, easily engaging them in activities that allowed her to assess their development and age-specific skills. I have never seen a doctor take so much time with a child at a regular check-up. She really worked with them to see if they were on target with their development in various areas...not just the regular eyes, ears, stomach rubbing that I have seen with so many other physicians.
I would highly recommend Dr. Gayle Harrison to anyone looking for a pediatrician. She is very experienced, cares, and communicates well.
