FOREVER & ALWAYS FLOWERS

I ordered some flowers to be delivered the day of a friend's funeral viewing and paid an extra fee for "Rush" service to ensure they would be delivered on time. When I attended the viewing at 6:30 PM, I realized that the flowers had not been delivered. I contacted the florist at 8:45 PM to ask what had happened and she had a litany of excuses. 1) She had no flowers left after Mother's Day, 2) She is the last stop for the flower delivery truck and so she didn't get the flowers until after 1:00 PM, 3) She has to do everything from take the orders to make the arrangements to deliver the arrangements and she didn't have time to do it today. I asked her why she had contacted me to let me know about a possible delay and she said that she was too busy. She indicated that the flowers would be delivered the following day in time for the actual funeral service and that should be good enough for me. After all, she's been working 14 hour days. When I told her to please cancel the order and refund my money, she said that she could not do that because the flowers that I had ordered were "Special Order" (even though the arrangement was displayed as a regular item on their website) and so I would have to pay for them anyway. Later that night, I received an e-mail message indicating that the arrangement had been delivered to a then-closed funeral home at 9:41 PM, an hour and a half after the viewing had ended. Perfect.
