 + 0 moreDo have a plan in mind before getting a landscaper out, not all are as willing to sit and draw pictures with you as Jose was. Do know what you have to spend on the TOTAL project before you have them come to the house. We wanted water irrigation installed along with the new trees as in 100+ degrees, new plantings are hard to keep going without daily watering. Jose installed all the underground irrigation in rock beds and for the newly planted trees. Very clean, always hauled out what he did not use or had to throw. The suggestions Jose made on the varieties of shrubs and trees was great, with water need on the low end. Very knowledgeable with native plants and those that grow better in this USDA grow zone. We were so pleased with what he accomplished, that we have him back again this spring to add to the driveway rock and a few more trees. Very fair prices and labor.
Description of Work: We had new construction on 10 VERY rural acres. Our home contractor recommended Legacy Landscaping as did a friend in Las Cruces who had used him 2x for landscaping. Never having lived in the desert, we had no idea of what or how to begin. Jose Cardenas who is the owner of Legacy Landscapes came over, walked us thru all of the possibilities we could do to make our level 2 acres where the house sits, could be made to look softer and in tune to the native landscape. I wanted 20" trees verses shorter ones, as we are older and want the pleasure of shade now..Jose listened, made suggestions,and drew lovely rocked areas where I could plant the native cactus and shrubs. We included a "gray water" system in the new construction which uses bath and laundry water from the house and goes into a separate holding tank to irrigate before the well water kicks in and Jose wired all of the pumps/timers/and zone Rain-bird landscape system. It turned out better than we expected Great job and done within a satisfactory time frame.
