They came out to restore the service and finally after one year, we got them to bury the cable. Hoplefully this will take care of the problem.

Windstream recommended a leave them for another carrier since they were unable to fix the issue however there are absolutely no other options for service in my area. Currently I have had no internet service for three days and am not able to get a commitment from them when it will be back online. I work from home so am currently working from a local restaurant that offers free wireless.
As soon as I have a new option to Windstream I will be leaving them.

If I remember correctly, Mike (?) was on-time, very courteous and helpful.
There were two options for the line and I asked that he make it such that I could use either one. He had to do a little modification but got it done.
He also stayed to make certain that my computer would connect via the wireless connection. Now, I fancy myself a bit of a techie...I did end up having trouble accessing the site. He made some calls and got things resolved real-time.
I have had not problems with the service and am pleased with the service I received.
The cost is a little high, but this is the best option for me in the area I reside.

I switched to Windstream after dissatisfaction with the service and variety on US Cable (now defunct). Windstream offered bundled service with Dish Network (TV), plus telephone and DSL service. They were generally good to work with, though I had a few problems with hardware (the DSL modems initially had some problems). They did offer a free upgrade to a wireless DSL modem/router that finally solved my issues. Internet service is good, with the speed being consistently that which was advertised. The phone service is adequate, there is some line noise, but overall it is good. Their package deals are a good value for the service provided. They have always been professional and punctual.
