I brought in my piece which was in a 45 year old frame and with my permission they gently removed it. We discovered there was another manuscript on the back which was less faded and which I preferred. They guided me as to the correct type of framing for this piece, as well as showing me a different piece they had just completed for another customer, framed so the front and back could be viewed. They listed the pros and cons of each type of mounting. They had a board where they placed my piece with magnets while we tried out different frames and matting until I was satisfied. It took 2 weeks, as they had said, and we're delighted with the result. It cost more than I expected, but I'm new to ABQ and realize this is a quality framing business and the piece is a family heirloom.

The two projects turned out great. The treatments that were chosen added to the enjoyment I have had looking at my mementos from a wonderful trip.

I started by having them review some Japanese engravings that I had bought in the 1980's. They were able to take them apart and upgrade the mats and glass to conservation quality to preserve them properly. After that, I've taken them a pretty rock that my mother valued, and they were able to build a shadow box frame that showed the rock off beautifully. From simple cards and posters to treasured pieces, I have every confidence that Frame-n-Art and Suanne and Michael Derr will protect, preserve, and show them off to their best advantage.
