CLAYTON PETALS

My wife and I went to my son's valentines party at his school and forgot to lock our door. When we returned there were flowers sitting on our dinning room table. I was shocked because I did not order flowers for my wife. She looked at the card and they were for someone else. Needless to say I was outraged that someone had came into my home without my consent. Now I am not a police officer, but from what I can tell this falls under criminal trespassing, a class A offense in the state of Texas. I called the company, Clayton Petals and asked to speak to the manager or owner. The employee said, "She is very busy right now, It's valentines day." She asked if she could take a message. I explained the situation to her and within seconds the owner was on the phone. I then explained what had happened to the owner expecting an apology or at least an acknowledgment of wrongdoing. The owner said, "Well sir I don't know why you are chewing me out, I didn't delivery the flowers. Maybe you should lock your door." After threatening to file a report with the police department, the owner gave me her husbands cell phone number and said, "Maybe you should talk to him, he made the delivery." So I called her husband, which proved to be more frustrating than talking to a door. He informed me that he could not remember if he had delivered flowers to my street in the last 2 hours. I asked him if it was a common practice to enter a residence when no one was home. He responded, " Well......... if the person ordering the flowers ask us not to leave them outside we will just place them inside if the house is unlocked. We don't want the wind to blow them over." How reckless could a business be? I work nights and I don't think I need to say what might have happened if I was home and woke up to find a stranger in my house. I strongly urge anyone who is considering purchasing flowers from Clayton Petals to think twice. They have absolutely no respect for their customers or anyone else in this case.
