First trip, I called before driving out to the greenhouse. The instructions I was given made it easy to find. That is always a plus. What a wonderful selection of zone hardy plants they have! The gentleman assisting me was able to give me lots of information about each plant without having to look it all up on a computer. I chose a lovely tree for the front yard, planted it according to the advice given, and am enjoying watching it grow. Cost - $50. They take checks and cash, no plastic.
A second trip followed another phone call about the apple tree in the backyard. It turns out it has bores. The nurseryman advised a two prong approach to treatment. The tree seems to be responding to the treatment and I have hopes of saving it thanks to the excellent advice South Country Greenhouse's owner/operators have given me. Cost - $30. (about half what the big-box store wanted for same products)
Another trip is scheduled for tomorrow. They have three flowering bushes I am going to plant next!
