From the very first, communication was difficult. He came out right away to measure the cabinets, and then we didn’t hear from him again for over three weeks. He told Lowe’s that he tried several times to call my husband. However, my husband is “on call” 24 hours a day, and he never received a call. We then scheduled to have the countertops installed, and for the most part they looked OK, but there was one section where there was a significant gap below the tile where you can see back to the drywall. It’s about a half inch gap. There’s another section where the measurements don’t quite work and another half inch gap that goes up and over a piece of backsplash. The guy that installed it said something about how maybe we could fill it in with calk, and then left. When I contacted Jerry, he said, “well, most people replace their tile.” I pointed out that in fact I am not replacing my tile. Anyway, he measured it, so shouldn’t the measurements work? He then said that maybe he could do something with creating a backsplash and removing part of the lower tile. I said that was fine. Couple more weeks go by, nothing. I texted him pictures of what it looks like. He responded that he would come out the next day. I asked him, “what time? I work all day.” No response. Two days later I contacted him again asking him, “hello?” We’ve used several contractors over the years, hired through Lowe’s. This is the only one we’ve been unhappy with.

Jerry Limas came when he said he would come and repaired some dings in
my granite kitchen counter top. He was great, his work was good, and the
price was not to be beaten.

Jerry and his contracted employees were very careful not to damage our brick floors and personal belongings. They cleaned up after each day and asked before using a convenience, e.g. listening to their radio.

We paid him half of the fee upfront and he had 3 full weeks to do the work and had access to the house without direct supervision, but had contact info for my husband and I as well as a local relative in case issues arose. He never contacted any of us, but my sister-in-law contacted him a few times.

In a few rooms, he did lay detailed, decorative patterns, like we discussed, but not the patterns we wanted. In the end, he claimed to have sealed all the tile and it was ready in the time-frame we agreed upon. My sister-in-law met him and paid him the rest of his money, with the understanding that he could come back and finish a few days later when we finished the move. After that we found several things that seemed suspicious and he stopped returning our calls whatsoever. When we moved in, we found many other things that were not done well at all. We’ve tried several times to reach him to fix the job, but he’s refused to contact us back.

My experience was great. Overall, when anything wasn't to my liking, I just mentioned it to Jerry and he would resolve it. His people are very trustworthy and if anyone can say remodeling is a great experience, it would be me! No horror stories or problems with Jerry. Still amazed at all the things they can do!!!

Jerry and his crew arrived on time measured all my countertops and in less than a week called to let me know the granite was ready! They took out the old countertops, sink and backsplashes and installed everything in ONE DAY! They made special supports for the 42 inch farmhouse sink, installed and did the plumbing for i and the new faucet. Their attention to detail is amazing! He even recommended replacing the kitchen window ledges to match the granite and I have to admit, it looks incredible. Makes the kitchen look finished, down to the last detail. Loved the ledges so much, I had him put them in all the windows of the entire house! The installation was so fast, I still can't believe it. And YES, they clean up after themselves and took extra care to drape the kitchen entry so no dust would get into other areas of the house. I was so impressed with their work in the kitchen, that I hired them to remodel the bathroom. Again, they were on time and completed the work within the timeframe and at the price they quoted. Jerry came up with various ideas on how to save money during the remodel and his advice saved me a few hundred $$. He is an easy going, friendly guy who knows his trade and actually enjoys his work. While they were cleaning up after the kitchen remodel, he saw I was trying to replace the ceiling fan in the den. He actually put it together and connected it for me, without my even asking. He said I was going to fall off the ladder and just did it for me! If you need things done in your home, call Jerry, at El Desierto, they can do more than just granite and tile, he just did a patio and a custom stucco mailbox for my daughter, and she is very happy with their work.
