Auto Towing Service
The experience was a nightmare, and I would urge everyone to steer clear of Yellow Jacket. After arriving on the scene of the accident and loading my vehicle, the Yellow Jacket representative (whom I later found out was the owner) left the scene while I was speaking with police. He did not provide me with a business card, no contact information, did not ask if there was a specific location to which I wanted my vehicle towed, and did not inform me where my vehicle was going. Later that afternoon, I called the number listed for Yellow Jacket in the phone book and got the owner's daughter, who stated she would leave a message for her father. Not only did I wish to know the location of my vehicle, I desperately wanted to remove food from the inside of it that had spilled during the accident and was no doubt beginning to ripen in the blistering New Mexico sun. I received no return call from the owner that day, and two more calls placed the following day also went unreturned. During those exchanges, the owner's daughter rudely refused to divulge the location of my vehicle, and I was beginning to seriously wonder why exactly Yellow Jacket did not want me to know where my car had been taken. Upon speaking that evening with a friend in the auto business, I was able to obtain the location of a lot, which I visited the next morning. I was relieved to finally see my car (although parked in an unsecured area) and immediately placed another call to Yellow Jacket from my cell phone. Once again, the owner's daughter answered, and I informed her that I was at their lot and was calling to request permission from whomever resided in a home on the premises to enter my vehicle (I had the spare key) and remove the rotting food. This woman began yelling at me repeatedly that she "did not care" if there was food rotting in my car and that I was "not allowed" access to my vehicle. Thankfully, the following day was Monday, and my insurance company was able to reach the owner of Yellow Jacket Towing and request that my vehicle be transferred to an auto body shop "first thing in the morning" - and yet it did not arrive until late that afternoon. As expected, the spilled food in my vehicle had rotted, and the stench was indescribable. Luckily for me, the at-fault driver's insurance was comprehensive enough to cover the subsequent extensive cleaning the interior of my car required or I would have been forced to pay out of pocket for that, all thanks to Yellow Jacket Towing. Should you find yourself needing a tow in the Artesia area, my advice to you would be to sprint in the opposite direction of this unprofessional company!
