It was horrible for many reasons. Tim was supposed to contact me weekly to let me know how things were going. I didn't hear from him for the first couple weeks I was away. Then Tim contacted informing me that my cat had an infection and he wanted to take him to the emergency vet. It should be no surprise that the cat was/is perfectly fine and healthy. Because I didn't take consent to an expensive and unnecessary emergency vet visit, Tim would text me saying that my cat had "survived another day," using language that purposefully made me uneasy. Shortly thereafter I received a text from Tim informing me that he may need to buy additional litter. Before I even had a chance to respond (maybe 2 minutes), I received an angry phone call from Tim telling me texting isn't working so he'll just resort to calling me instead. More importantly, I had to cut my visit short for personal reasons, so came home early. Tim initially agreed to cancel one of the visits and provide me with a partial refund. To date, he refuses to reimburse me and insists that I'll have to take him to court. When I came home, there was cat litter everywhere, cat vomit, and food strewn all over the apartment. When I informed Tim, he responded that he was a cat sitter not a housekeeper. Overall, Tim was extremely unprofessional, creepy, and inconsiderate. I would trust this man to take care of a goldfish. I am filing a complaint with the BBB as a result. I HIGHLY recommend finding someone else to take care of your pets.

Unfortunately, our experience with Tim was not in line with the other reviewers here.
First, the good:
- According to our alarm records, Tim arrived for every appointment within 5 minutes of our arranged time.
- He seemed to be good with the dogs as far as talking and interacting with them kindly
Now, the bad:
- For the first day, Tim was texting someone else instead of us with status updates. When we hadn't heard from him, we checked our security cameras to make sure that he had arrived, and we saw him on our couch with one of our dogs on his lap, after we had clearly told him that the dogs were not allowed on the furniture.
- The longest of the mid-day visits that he performed was 7 minutes from arrival to departure. This is hardly enough time for the dogs to even use the bathroom, much less have time to run and get some exercise. Dog sitters we have worked with previously have never performed mid-day visits of under 30 minutes, and it's often closer to an hour-- we never asked how long these visits would be, but never imagined that they would be this short.
- When we arrived home, we found dried urine and feces in the living room that could not have been from the same day, so he had either not noticed or not bothered to clean it up. In addition, our dogs are well house trained and very rarely have accidents, so I can only imagine that this was the result of short outdoor times which didn't give them a chance to fully eliminate.
Any one of these things individually might be understandable, but all three combined have left us feeling questioning Tim's level of attentiveness and care, and we will certainly not be using his services in the future.

Despite my many attempts to keep your dogs off the sofa in the TV room Stanley simply refused to head my verbal reprimands to the contrary. Fortunately, Izzy was not so enthusiastic and Barkley was never any trouble. As to your other comments I must plead guilty and I apologize. My many other client commitments left me limited on the amount of time I was able to give to your kids on certain days in the afternoon. I could tell that there was something incorrect when you checked in with me upon your return from your trip. I just wish your would have said something to me then instead of reading about your real feeling about me service here days after you did get back. Once more I apologize for not fulfilling your expectations and hope that you will use my services again. I will remember your comments and will attempt to rectify these issues you mentioned."

- This is the second time I have used his services. I am so pleased to have found him. It gives me peace of mind when I am away to know my kitties are well looked after. I was having a difficult time finding someone to give insulin injections to my diabetic cat and he was willing to learn. He did a great job with Snarf who didn't mind him doing the injections. I also like the way he keeps me informed of their status while I am away. I will continue to use his services in the future.

It was PERFECT. We had our meet and greet and confirmed the services we talked to him about previously, a few days before Tim took over. The end was just as he said it would be. Our expectations were more than exceeded. You can not go wrong with Tim. BTW, he also walked the dogs keeping with their daily routine.

We have nothing but the highest praise for Tim's care of our yard, pond and fish for the five days we were out of town. From our initial telephone conversation with him to reading the written recap of events he left for us upon our return, he was unfailingly professional, trustworthy, caring, and attentive to our needs. All the paperwork and fees were thoroughly gone over at the outset. (The fee noted above includes a discount for using Angies's list.) He is very conscientious and took expert care of everything. We are so happy to have found him and will be relaxed in the future leaving our home in his care.

Tim took on week-long, overnight care of our four dogs and two cats. He came by for one advance appointment/visit so that he could see and participate in the feeding routine and so that the dogs and cats would be familiar with him being in the house. It was an added visit at cost, but it made us feel confident that Tim would know our routine and be familiar with where dog/cat food was stored, etc. (In advance, Tim also provided a very thorough questionnaire and other documents that demonstrated his professionalism and attention to detail.) All of our pets are easy going and not much of a problem, but still, they are all fed twice a day and the yard had to be cleaned daily, along with litter boxes. While we were gone, Tim also kept us informed via phone call and/or texts, so we were free to enjoy our week-long vacation without concern.
If you feel that your dogs/cats are members of your family and not just "pets", then Tim's service is probably the best in Albuquerque. A+++ rating. (Note- price after Angie's List discount).

We contacted Tim when our pet sitter had to unexpectedly cancel and found him to be very professional and friendly. We have three pets - two dogs and one cat, and boarding them for a week would have been not only expensive but very stressful for our anxious cattle dog. Tim took to the pet immediately, and they seemed to like him too. He kept the house in very good condition and called us every day with updates on the pets. Due to time constraints, our mobile groomer had to come during our trip out of town and Tim took that in stride as well. Everything went swimmingly and I believe having Tim come sit for us worked out much better than boarding them. They got to stay in the most comfortable environment for them (our house), and we had the peace of mind of knowing they were being well taken care of. I would recommend him to anyone needing a pet or house sitter.

Tim is absolutely superb. He is professional, honest, meticulous, and extremely reliable. My husband and I went on vacation for 10 days and needed someone to come into our home on a daily basis to tend to 2 adult cats, do some light watering in our backyard, and just conduct a good overall daily check of our home. We found Tim on Angie's List about 3 months ago and arranged a meeting a month prior to our trip. He went over all the paperwork with us, discussed what we needed and expected, and then met with us again the day prior to our departure. While we were gone he contacted us every 2-3 days to provide us a detailed update. We were very, very pleased with the services he provided and will abolutely use him again.

Tim is excellent and our dogs love him. Tim has done several jobs for us over the last couple of years, from dog/house sitting for a couple of days to ten days. He comes and loves on our 3 dogs, watches the house, picks up the dog waste and waters the plants. Tim even helped us when we brought our baby home from the hospital for the first time. He soothed the dogs as they figured out what the tiny crying thing was. Not to mention, Tim was "on call" as we weren't sure when we'd get out of the hospital with baby. It was reassuring to know that someone could help us with the dogs.
We've just contracted for another 2 week sitting in a couple of months. That will be the longest stretch and I'll submit another review then-I'm sure it will be good.
Tim is good stuff and you should hire him.

We found Tim on Angie's List when our current pet sitter retired. Tim
was very responsive when we called him to set up an appointment. He is
very thorough and friendly. He took very good care of our pug while we
were away. He also brought in the mail. We would have no problem
recommending Tim and will definitely use his services again in the

Very smooth experience, Tim was very responsive and professional at all times. I need to bear in mind for future reference he charges time and a half if he goes on a holiday. Let him know if you expect to find when you get home no trash, mail pick up current and litterbox cleaned. I did not state these things specifically but would do so next time. Not a problem at all, I should have been more specific. Everything else was absolutely fine. I recommend Tim's services to anyone in NE Albuquerque.

Tim Hume is an excellent pet and house sitter. I recommend his services without hesitation. He is flexible and responsive. If I call or email him with a service request, he responds in 24 hours or less. He provides a written invoice so all charges are clear up front. My family has used his services on at least five occasions with another pet sitting set up later this month. I have never had any issues with price or billing so was surprised to see another Angie's List user stating something contrary because Tim is extremely professional and does not mess around with billing issues.
In terms of the actual service, my three dogs love him. He spends a good amount of time with them to be sure that they are well cared for. If you are using a kennel, you are wasting your money as well as your dogs' sanity.

Tim was prompt, very courteous, professional and thorough in explaining what he would be accomplishing on my property while I was away on vacation. Upon my return home, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the roses had been pruned along with the cleanliness of my property. With his professional pruning, I had a brilliantly colorful bumper crop of beautiful roses within a month; a task I never have been capable of doing. I will definitely request his services again.

I’m very disappointed with them. He came and gave me an estimate of $20 an hour. We talked about specific things that needed to be done in that amount of time. He moved backwards. He did a good job. But he didn’t do half of what we talked about. Their price was exorbitant. The quality was good. They showed up on time. He was overly friendly. I would never use them in the future.

When we met for the initial consultation, he was very professional, prepared, and interacted beautifully with our dogs (one of whom has severe shyness). He paid attention to every detail. The dogs were great when we got home from our trip. We will be employing Tim's services again for a longer trip in the future.
