This is the second garage door opener I had installed by Tom from Windsor.  The first one he installed about a month previously
and everything went very well, so I decided to get another one for the second door. Both Dennis in the office and Tom, who did the installations, are competent and dependable. The jobs were done well with no problems at all and the openers work great. From my experience I think you can count on them to do the work as promised and at a reasonable price.

They installed the door and came back for couple of follow ups. We bought the door through direct buy. They did a superb job.

We chose this company over others because of their professionalism, attention to detail, timeliness in product delivery and expert installation.  We had a good feeling when we placed our order and had an even better feeling after the work was done on time and with perfection. We had a slight problem of our own doing  and Aaron at the home office took care of it no questions asked.
The door is beautiful and we are glad we chose Windsor Door.

They are very responsive. I called them, and they were out in a couple of days to double check what was going on. They gave us openers that didn't work. Then I said that since they didn't work with some people, they replaced them with the right ones. They should have done that from the beginning.

Scheduling was easy, even with an offer of same day service. Unfortunately, we were not available, but they were able to find a time that fit my complex schedule. Cost was lower than expected, repairman was helpful and friendly. When done, I asked about a malfunctioning button. Repairman just happened to have a replacement in his truck and had it fixed in a few minutes. I highly recommend their service.

The sales person I spoke with on the phone was quite congenial and clearly explained the different garage door openers I could have installed. The ones I ended up picking allow for a device that allows me to connect the opener to an iPhone app should I choose to do so at some later date (sounds like something that could come in handy).
The installer did an excellent job installing the openers. He had a bit of a challenge where the genius builder had installed a light fixture right where the opener motor was supposed to go, but he worked around it like a champ. Before he left, he programmed the remote keypad for us. He also showed us the operation of the buttons on the remotes and wall buttons (this is an upgrade from our previous house, so knowing where to find what buttons on the wall panel was nice).
I paid more for this than I would've for, say, a Genie at Home Depot, but the quality, quiet operation, and upgraded options demand an additional premium that I felt was fair and was willing to pay.

Windsor installed this garage door about 10 years ago. Tom DuBois serviced it this time and he was here on time. Very professional. Even fixed some cosmetic details.

Arrived right on time and worked for about an hour re-locating and re-wiring the garage door sensors so they would be less vulnerable to being knocked out of line. The workman was courteous and explained what he did in detail. Door is working great now.

My first contact to schedule a service call was great. My schedule that week was very busy. Windsor Door was able to work around it and provide a convenient appointment time. The technician, Dennis, called prior to coming over and arrived a little earlier than planned, which worked out great. Dennis was very pleasant and able to replace the hinges quickly. He explained the advantages of using metal hinges rather than plastic ones and the price difference was minimal. In addition, he provided a garage door/opener checkup.

They are competitively priced with a great product, but it is their honest service that is of such high quality. They were on time for the appointments, did their jobs efficiently and quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. After one major-name maintenance guy told me my rollers were the problem and would have to all be replaced, Windsor's tech determined that the garage door-opener was just improperly set, which was causing the problem and cost only the $50 maintenance fee to fix. Wouldn't use any other provider for the maintenance.

Repairman came, lowered door and promised to call the next morning with an estimate. When he didn't call, I called the office and they had no knowledge of my door and promised to call back. Called the next day and was told there were no parts for my old door. Scheduled the replacement of both doors. Repairman came the next day and put up new doors. Left screws, bolts and nuts all over the garage and driveway and doors did not close properly. Called office again. Another repairman came the next day and fixed the system.
I wrote a letter of complaint. Owner called, apologized and promised a gift certificate to a restaurant. Never came.

The stuck door happened on a Saturday afternoon. I called Windsor door because we had used them before; I expected that I would need to wait until Monday for a repair but the owner said he had someone who could come out fairly soon. He later called to say the call that the repairman was on was taking longer than expected and he would arrive later than he originally thought. Unusual, but appreciated, to often you sit and wait wondering if someone is actually coming. The door was off the track and was fixed; it worked but Mike warned us that they had replaced a number of openers of about the same age and that the company was out of business and parts were no longer available. I would not necessarily believe just anyone who told me that story but Windsor Door has always been truthful and reliable. I scheduled that opener to be replaced and later reconsidered and scheduled the other two. So this review covers 3 separate visits. All were timely and the personnel helpful and professional.

The salesmen who came out and gave the estimate were very professional and polite. They arrived promptly and were friendly. They gave us a good estimate and we were overall happy with them. The lady I spoke with on the telephone was also friendly and professional. The man who came out to do the work itself was about 45 minutes late, which is okay, these things happen, and he did call. What bothers me is that the unit they replaced our old on with did not have a long enough cord to reach the outlet with and we were required to go and purchase an extension cord.
When I first pointed out that this was not acceptable to me, one of the representatives came out and offered to replace the cord in the unit so that it will reach. But upon review, they found they couldn't do that without voiding the warranty, so we are left with an extension cord in our garage. We've jimmied it so it's not hanging loose, but it still bothers me. They did reimburse us for the cost of the cord, so there's that. Overall, they did try to work with us on that, but I thought that the person who installed the unit could have perhaps noticed the cord was too short and maybe gotten a different one with a longer cord? or something? I don't know, I just don't like the idea of having an extension cord hanging from my garage roof.
Since that's the only thing that went wrong, I give them a B. Otherwise they were professional and did try to fix the problem.

Trying to fix garage doors yourself is dangerous. My father was injured
trying to repair mine. While he was in the hospital with the injury,,
on the day after Christmas, I called Windsor and they sent someone to
Santa Fe. It was repaired at a very reasonable price by 10:00 a.m. I
am so appreciative of their expertise and responsiveness.

Three different repair teams came out for one job. Communication among the different workers seemed very limited. So the second repair person was not provided information from the first team, and they pretty much started over, and we had to explain what was going on and what we needed again. By the questions they asked, we don't think all the repair folks knew what they were doing. It probably did not help that, as I later found out, the original work order said we needed new remotes when what we has asked for was new multi-channel senders (and remotes). This whole process increased the hours spent, labor hours and cost. Everyone was very helpful and prompt. Everything does work.

I am very impressed with them. He was so knowledgeable, and he just kind of pin pointed the problem and the problem was the door not wanting to close. He was very friendly, and laid down all options and took care of the problem instantly. I haven't any problem.

I called Windsor Door on a Saturday and they were at my house in 20minutes. They performed all the repairs and checked out the original installation and advised it wasn't properly installed from the beginning. They came out later and reinstalled everything at no extra charge.
