About us
We are a second generation company opened in 1960 by Titus (Tim) Wingerd in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Nelson Wingerd began his training under his union trained father as an elementary-age kid going along on service calls evenings and weekends. Having gained much more training, earning a BA in Economics and Business Administration, and 30+ years experience in plumbing, heating and air conditioning, Nelson opened the business in Albuquerque in 2009 where he and Janel, his wife of 34+ years, live. We are happy to serve you in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, Corrales, Los Lunas, Placitas, Rio Rancho, and Tijeras!

Excellent. The leak was fixed, but a new problem developed downstream of the leak later that week. They came back out and repaired the new issue free of charge. Both times they were punctual and professional, very knowledgeable. They have previously repaired a sump pump in our house as well and did a great job.

Was quoted one price for two vanities but when he completed one he said that was the price for one. We would never have agreed to pay that much for two vanities. We will never use him again plus the shower he fixed broke two days later.

He came at 1 and took forever to figure out how he was going to charge. He started the actual work at 2 and realized that he couldn't fix it. Finally he decided that he was going to put in a new faucet that he already had in his truck. He charged me $629 for a faucet and a half hour of work. He refused to give me the Angie's List coupon. It seems like he charged me for all the time he took when deciding that the faucet couldn't be fixed, which he told me he would not charge me for it.

I called Nelson (on a Thursday, I believe) and told him about the problem. I mentioned that it wasn't a major leak, but that I was somewhat concerned. He was told me he was booked for the remainder of the week but could come out Monday mid-morning. I thought that would be fine as it probably had been leaking like this for a few weeks. Nelson came out on the day and approx. time that he originally setup with me. It didn't take him long at all to find the problem. Apparently a small pin-***** sized hole had opened in the faucet piping. He was able to replace that portion of the faucet and it was fixed. It probably didn't take more than 20-30 minutes from start to finish. We have not had a problem since. Although the original installation had be done well over a year ago, Nelson said that he would not charge me for the work. That means a lot to me. I will not hesitate to call Nelson for other plumbing work in the future.

My plumber retired and I was referred to Nelson Wingerd Town & Country Plumbing Heating Cooling. I called Nelson and was told there would be a $149 service call fee which would be waived if he did the work. Upon arrival he hooked up the water line which was hanging next to the faucet; removed the cooler cover and damper; and turned on the water, pump, fan and determined the cooler was indeed functional. He then went to his truck to write the estimate for the work (clean inside of cooler and replace the aspen pads). He returned with an estimate of $491.00!! I informed him that I had never paid more than $80 for this service! He said that was the charge; especially with replacing the aspen pads (which are $5.00 each at any home improvement store!). I told him I could not afford that and he charged me the $149 service call fee and left to go to his next unwitting customer! At the very least, this is a very deceptive business practice - driving around all day and charging each customer $149 after giving grossly inflated work estimates! What a scam!
