SOMETHING SPECIAL WITH FLOWERS

When I met with the owner of Something Special, I was instantly drawn to her energy and excitement about my event. I had chosen royal blue as my main wedding color. I very, very specifically asked if it would be possible in July to get BRIGHT blue hydrangeas. I was assured that it was possible and that is what I would get. I referenced a photo from a magazine with electric blue flowers and was told they would be very close to identical to the photo. I was so excited!
Between the time of the consultation and the wedding, I emailed the owner frequently about questions and for clarification of errors she made on paperwork I had received. She was often super slow in responding to my email. I was frustrated, but it was wedding season, after all.
On the day of my wedding, when my flowers arrived, I cried. Not the happy cry. The hydrangeas were barely blue. BARELY!  I was beyond disappointed with the color. To add to the disappointment, my bouquet and the bridesmaid's bouquets fell apart! The centerpieces were supposed to be comprised of THREE heads of hydrangea... there was a single head of flowers in every centerpiece! We paid for three!
Thank goodness my wedding day was beautiful and only a few people knew that the flowers were supposed to be totally different. I do look at the pictures still and miss the pop of color I was looking for in the blue flowers.
