Serafian's Oriental Rugs

I can not say enough about the company's responsiveness and customer service. The owner contacted us immediately and made an appointment to come and see the rug the next day. The procedure and costs were explained clearly. He and his crew that came to pick up the rug were professional, courteous, and couldn't be happier with the service. Our rug, while we chose not to have repairs done at this time, is looking better than ever.

Excellent service. They arrived right on time to pick up the rugs and delivered them at the appointed time as well.
Rugs had pet urine stains. The rugs came back looking new and bright with no trace of urine smell.
The delivery service to Santa Fe was excellent. There's an extra fee ($50 rt) but it's worth it.

They came when they said.
They did a beautiful job.
They delivered it as scheduled.
Everything professional and very courteous.
Could not have asked for anything more.

Cleaning is an expensive task but one worth doing for the life of your carpet. It restores beautiful color as well as it removes grime and dust. I have taken my carpets to Serafian's before and have always been satisfied.

But the most impressive thing was the rewoven corner of the carpet couldn't be seen as any different from any of the

rest of the carpet's colors and design. I believe the weaver's name is Laura. Wonderful work by a talented woman.

Plus, as an added bonus, they cleaned and repaired my carpet and got it back to me in time for a party...before they were actually due to get it done.

We were told there would be a pickup and delivery charge of $50 for Santa Fe, which seemed reasonable give the size and weight of the rugs, as well as the distance. Jacob and Danny arrived on time with a van. Pleasant and efficient, they rolled the rugs open on our driveway and examined them for condition, which they noted on the invoice. We were impressed with Jacob's knowledge. He was able to tell us what type of rugs we had, where they came from and whether they were valuable. He did not present himself as an expert and was cautious about what he said, but he gave us a lot of upfront information that helped us decide not to clean/repair a couple of small rugs that didn't merit saving. We probably would have drawn that conclusion ourselves, but his honesty reassured us about the ethics of this company with whom we'd never dealt before. Two of the rugs needing cleaning had been soiled with dog urine and feces (not our dogs), but the folks at Serafian's said they had seen and handled worse. (The rugs came back clean and sweet-smelling.) Three of the four pieces we had cleaned were finished just in the 2-3 weeks promised-- on the longer end of the estimate, but in fairness to Serafian's, Santa Fe had a big storm around that time, which resulted in some leaking roofs and an unusually high number of people asking for emergency rug cleanings. The fourth rug was a combination repair and cleaning. I was initially concerned at how long it was taking; moreso when the representative with whom I spoke told me that the repair process was more complex and time-consuming than anticipated. However, the final bill was not a dime over the estimate and the job well done. We were heading to Albuquerque for other reasons and so elected to pick up that rug ourselves. Matt Gabel was running the store that day, but generously gave us a quick education about the rug and answered our general questions with and enthusiasm and the easy grace of someone with deep knowledge. Positive experience all around.

The young men are very helpful. They pick up and deliver the rug for me. They do a fantastic job and you know your rug will look exactly the same as when you gave it to them, except cleaner.

We brought our cat soiled rug in;they evaluated the stain, told us what it would involve to clean it and how much it would cost. It was ready when they said it would be, and looked (and smelled!) beautiful. We are very pleased with them, as always...

They did a very good job in all aspects of our rug cleaning project. It was twice the cost of what I had paid for in the past. My previous carpet cleaner has gone out of business in Albuquerque. The silk rug was a challenge and they did a fabulous job on it!

I couldn't possibly recommend them higher! The owner called me personally to check on a spot that was on a rug, so they could know how to best treat it. I have 2 corgies, so I have them clean my rug against all the dirt that collects from my dogs. They pick up the rug, usually clean it sooner than expected, and deliver it back to me. They even call from the truck to make sure that I am there for pick up, and call the day before they are going to deliver it back. I had a very bad experience with a rug cleaner here in Sante Fe once, but will never use anyone else again!

I brought them an oriental area rug to clean in August. I told them I didn't need it right away since I was moving and didn't want it until I was in new house. I also told them that we had a dog and that the carpet hadn't been cleaned in a few years. I called them after not hearing from them in several weeks. They said it wasn't done yet. They seemed to have to look for it [ it sounded like they couldn't find it]. They returned my call and said it wasn't done yet. They said it was very dirty and it had to beat it more before washing it. This was 8 weeks after bringing it in. We finally got a call saying it was done, just a few days after my phone call. When we went to pick it up, it was all rolled up and wrapped. I asked them to unroll it so I could see it. It was still damp, it was not clean and it smelled like wet dog! I told them it was unacceptable and needed to be further cleaned. This time it was ready in under a week, [this was mid November already]. It looked better and smelled better so we paid and took it home. I know see that several strands of wool were broken and are now standing upright. I was totally displeased with them and their lack of professionalism. Unfortunately, there aren't many places in ABQ to clean oriental rugs. Overcharged and all around bad service.
