Workers were quick and professional during the installation of the windows and patio slider, apologizing for breaking a ceramic floor tile during the installation. They installed a window with a broken latch and promised to come back to replace it with a good one. The services were performed in 2008.
This past summer, I contacted Sears to have repairs made to the windows, including the broken latch which had never been replaced as the installer never replaced it, as promised. At this time, I cannot latch shut 3 of the windows. There are broken balances, broken latches, and two of the windows are leaking water into the house when it rains. The leak is around the window frame where it is set into the side of the house. Sears was willing to schedule an appointment to have the windows fixed at a charge of $100 per window. I declined as the windows are supposed to have a lifetime warranty and to me, that includes the labor for fixing them, especially since that latch was never replaced, as promised. To me, that lifetime warranty, which was a big plus in purchasing these windows, is worthless. I would have contacted Sears earlier but until this past monsoon, which broke our drought (we live in a desert), I did not know that the windows had leaks around the frames. I can only think that they have been leaking now for years.
I am looking at replacing these windows and that $4000 was wasted. There is no post installation customer service.

They came out and did the work but I think their professionalism was lacking. They left their junk in the garage including their lunch stuff for me to throw away, which kind of irritated me. Then after all of that I was told that the work was not guaranteed and there would be a service charge if I had a problem with them and had to call them back. To me, that was crazy. Every business at least has a year's service included if there was any problem. Their attitude was "that's the way it is." I just did not feel like arguing.

We purchased a replacement water heater from Sears. Their installer did not show up on the agreed date and nether Sears nor I could get ahold of them. Sears has not been able to provide a replacement installer.

The guy from Sears takes a little while for them to get out there. You usually can't get an appointment right away. They're friendly and seem to know what they're doing. They're usually pretty efficient. They have lots of time when they say they're going to be coming.

We just bought a house and needed a new frig, washer, and dryer. We tried Home Depot - no one would wait on us. We tried Lowes - no one would wait on us. So, we tried Sears. What a difference. A responsive sales person, well trained, with a notepad in hand to search and pull up answers to any technical questions or pricing at competitors. Delivery was on time, the washer/dryer were carefully moved up a flight of stairs and the frig down a flight without issue. Installation, testing, and a demonstration followed by the installer. Overall - a very pleasant experience.

They know what they are doing.

I was in the store and I saw they had the service and I thought I would use the service, the did a fantastic job, prompt, left no mess, they were neat and everything works well now. I thought the service was excellent.

We felt we got a great deal. We went through a lot with the company to get it, but it was worth it.

They were very professional and on time.
