I was very pleased with the promptness and quality of service. This was my first swimming season without my husband to take care of these type repairs and I was very comfortable with S&B.

Brett at S&B did a great job of fitting the right sized pump for the pool capacity and installing it. The pool filtration/pump is working the best it ever has. He is very knowledgeable and professional and committed to fixing the problem.

Excellent service. Excellent value. Bret was the only Angie's list subscriber to respond to my request for quote. That alone was sufficient reason for me to contract for his services. He was exactly on time for all appointments, both quote and service. He communicated very well. He telephoned prior to the scheduled appointments to verify that I would be home. Bret is very pleasant to converse with and very knowledgeable in spa plumbing and repair. My job consisted of removing an in-ground spa I no longer needed and disposing of the same. He completed the job within the time period he first estimated and completed all work to my complete satisfaction. I highly recommend S&B Services for any spa and pool related work. S&B Services provides good service at a very reasonable price. I am very pleased with the outcome.

This review reflects 2 main services Brett provided for us. The first one was to do some major updates on our 15 year old pool: convert our pool from a chlorine system to salt, replace the sand in our filter and replace the pump. This work occurred in early May. This work really made our pool look and work better then it has in 10 years! We used it more this year then we had in years. Working with Brett has been super. He always arrived on time, described what needed to be done, provided options and was very up front with costs. The 2nd service was closing the pool for the winter in late October. As he was doing that, he explained what he did along the way, providing plenty of information along the way so that I can do this myself going forward. S &B will always be our first call for pool support.

He arrived at appointed time (both visits), was polite and professional, didn't waste time and was exceptionally neat. He told us his hourly rate, his estimated time and materials, all of which I found reasonable. I've been pleased with the results and have scheduled an appointment with Mr Woodfield for fall closure of my pool.

He actually returns messages and calls you back. He is knowledgeable and personable. He kind of does what he said he is going to do and when he is going to do it. His pricing is reasonable.

He did repair the pump for me. While he was showing me how it worked, the piping came loose. He then said that he was going to fix it and spent about two hours on it. He said he had the bill ready and I requested that he set it down on the scaffolding. Instead, he ripped out the piping that he had just installed as well as my piping. He just left in a crazy state.

"The first time I worked for this pool owner was Sept. 10, 2013. I replaced the pump motor and repaired a leak in the pool. On Sept. 27, 2013, he called and said he was draining the pool and a pipe had come loose. I dropped what I was doing and went to check it out. A pipe had come loose because the pump had been running with the filter valve closed. I made the necessary repairs and presented him the bill. He refused to pay the bill and said it was my fault that the pipe had come loose and it was not his error in operation. I said that it might be better if I removed my work and he could get someone else to do the repairs and he agreed."

After checking Angie's List and finding that S and B had by far the most and best reviews, I called Brett to come over to shut down our outdoor spa for the cold season. He was on time and very professional. The process was faster than estimated and less expensive than estimated over the phone. All was cleaned up nicely after the work was done, and I will definitely call him again next year for this service!

Brett worked carefully and efficiently. Before he arrived I worried that the cover could not withstand the heavy cleaning that it so obviously needed. Brett completed the task without damaging the pool cover. It looks great now!

Good work Bret! Showed up promptly. Looked at spa, and then at his catalogs extensively to find jets that would work in our older spa, with apparently hard to find parts.
He ordered them and let me pick up after telling me how to save money by installing ourselves, saying if any problems he would install for us.

We bought a new pool vac and could not get it to work. Our regular pool maintenance people told us they were really booked and we could and quot;probably figure it out ourselves.and quot; We found Bret of Sand B Pool and called him along with a few others on Angie's List. He returned my call promptly (one enver returned my call at all), but Bret said he was booked solid and leaving on a trip the following week. I must have sounded frustrated, because he said he'd see what he could do to fit me in, and he did. He took one look at the pool and said and quot;you've got a leak somewhere.and quot; It took a while, but he found it, he fixed it, he checked everything out (found a few other things that were wrong) and the new vac worked fine. I fired my regular pool people.
He is really professional (wouldn't even weigh in on my displeasure at my regular pool people, or comment on their work.) And he is pleasant to deal with.
I just called him with another problem (looks like the gasket on the filter is shot.) He told me what to do to keep water from leaking out of the pool, said he'd try to get out today if he can get the part--otherwise tomorrow morning.
I really have confidence in Bret. (I wonder if the one person who wrote such a negative review of his work has him mixed up with someone else.)

Bret's appearance and manner led me to believe that in spite of the his high price of approximately 25% higer than other pool liner installers that he was the man for the job.
Inadditon, during his estimating of the install of the poo liner. He got a call from a previous customer. He answer questions that customer's pool. He stated that he answers calls and provides assistance to previous customers.
I was truly amazed. Little did I know that this was just a marketing too and would not apply to me.
There was a small sapling growing in the pool. He removed it and said that he would add chemicals to insure that the tree/roots would not grow into the pool.
In the fall, I noticed what appears to be a root growing under the pool liner in the exact location of where Brett said he treated the sapling. That fall, I called him several times to inspect it. Each time he said he would come over. I repeatedly called him again in 2012. Again he said he would come over to inspect. My last call in the fall of 2012, he stated that it would cost be $90 for him to inspect a problem that he said he correct with chemicals.
Alarmed I never called him back.
A corner of the pool has no solid dirt behind it. I believe that pool liner should have dirt behind and not a gap.
My only hope is that the roots will not grow through the liner and that the corner with out dirt will not tear.
I am absolutely disappointed in Brett, his work and his promises.

"When I first looked at this pool to provide the owner with an estimate to replace the pool liner, it had been sitting empty for several years. There was a small tree growing in the bottom and a lot of roots from surrounding trees. I told the owner that I could treat the roots that could be seen and remove them, but there was no way to know what was below the surface. When he called that fall to address his concerns, I was very busy so we set up a time a week or so later. When I called him before arriving at his house, he said not to come as he couldn't see it any longer. I have been there to work on his pump and filter since then and he never said anything else about roots or the pool corner. The corners have sheet metal supports so they will sound hollow. The last time I spoke with the owner we discussed a chemical treatment issue. I suggested he take his pool water to a pool supply store because they have more comprehensive testing equipment and don't charge for the service. I have always responded to the owner's calls and he has never told me of his dissatisfaction. I was surprised to see his review, as I had not spoken to him in almost a year."

Bret provided outstanding service. My wife called to schedule an appointment to have our pool closed for the winter. Bret was prompt in setting up the appointment and prompt arriving the day of. This is the first pool that my wife and I have owned so before committing to closing we wanted to understand the pros and cons of potentially leaving it open during the winter. Bret was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable in explaining the pros and cons of both. I couldn't have been happier with the service and will use Bret for all of our pool and spa needs going forward.

Bret was amazing. I was unable to be there at the time of the work. I am always a little leery about leaving my elderly mother alone with contractors because in the past people have tried to take advantage of her. I had no worries with Bret. He was very straight-forward and actually called me while on site to verify some of the work. He seemed to know a lot about pools and the filtration system, a great help considering that the pool installer never completed a run through with us and I have been completely in the dark about how to operate everything. Bret will be getting a call from me when it comes time to reopen the pool for the season. He did exceptional work at a fair price and was very professional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
