We have just completed a successful and complex major roof remodeling project under a contract with Lenny Romero of Roman Building & Development LLC. Mr. Romero proved himself to be a competent, energetic, honest, and easy-to-work with contractor for what was the technically-challenging and logistically-demanding replacement of a 31-year-old flat roof, with parapets of varying height, multiple skylights, large solar hot air panels and ducting, with a 6/12, heavy-duty metal, gabled roof with substantial overhangs, multiple angles and chimneys, and complex trim and finishing-work requirements. Mr. Romero was skillful in the planning stage and tenacious in requiring successful work from multiple subcontractors, persistent in his problem-solving of unforeseen conditions, and delivered an excellent outcome for the agreed upon amount. His practical and economical sense of judgment and his aesthetic sensibilities were welcome and increased the visual beauty of the finished work. We think we got excellent value-for-money from him. I recommend him without qualification, especially for complex or difficult roof remodels. His work was excellent in every respect and we would be happy to serve as references for him. Our house is available for those who would like view Mr. Romero’s work.
Description of Work: Planned, designed and worked with his own crew, directing subcontractors, to create a 6/12-pitch, metal, gabled roof over our existing flat roof. The design was difficult because there were many wings and irregular and uneven wall surfaces, uneven parapets of differing heights, multiple skylights, two porch roofs, and two corner chimneys. The job included holding subcontractors to the highest standards. After completion of the roof, he remounted solar hot air panels. The final product was well integrated into the existing 3,000 sq. ft. adobe post and beam house and very close to perfect.
