Rio Nails & Spa

Went to Rio Nails for a few months for acrylic nail maintenance and pedicures, started with a new set. They have one person who does acrylic nails and one person who can do mani/pedi services (this second person also doubles as a real estate agent). Only having two people working here concerned me from the beginning.  Very difficult to get an appointment, usually have to wait several days, which is because there are only two people working at this salon, and of those two only one is licensed to do acrylic nails it seems.  I do a lot of typing, so I always get gel polish on my acrylic nails, and often times the polish will peel off at the tips within a week. For the first several weeks, the quality of service was great, and I'm not an easy customer to please.  However, the last six weeks or so it is nearly impossible to get an appointment that will fit in my schedule. My last visit, 3/22/2016, was before I left town for vacation, and I had to take extra time off work to go during the day to accommodate Jenny's schedule.  Three days later I broke the tip off of one corner of a nail, my natural nails had grown out and were not attached to the acrylic.  When I got back from vacation, I called to make an appointment to fix the nail. Couldn't get in for three days.  I arrived five minutes early for the scheduled appointment and she told me I would have to wait awhile.  When I asked what "awhile" might mean she told me 30-40 minutes.  The quality of your work does not make up for the difficulty in making appointments, and the unprofessionalism of scheduling an appointment then making your client wait half an hour past that appointment time. I will not go back and neither will anyone I've referred to this salon.

Great. I have been going here for years and will continue to do so. Only downfall is they are closed on Sundays.

My mother was not happy with the service. Her nails begain ripping within 5 days. Also, the tech bruised one of her nails.

Have visited this nail salon before. Mostly use Demi's. salon was clean. They were very friendly upon arrival. My technician was very sweet and new. She did a very nice job but took about 1/2 hour longer than my friend's nail tech. They do a hot wax dip which is very nice and they do have a television to watch Everyone was very friendlly. The two things I had a problem with was the fact that they were really pushing the gel nails. My friendl wanted a regular manicure and I know they went over the benefits of gel nails vs regular manicures at least 5 times. The other one was that one of the technicians had a fresh cold and did not put on a mask until a client came in and then the mask was only covering his mouth not his mouth and nose. I felt like he should have been wearing a mask the whole time in respect to his co-workers and clients. Both of our manicures and pedicures turned out nice but this woud be my alternate salon not my first choice.

Offers a range of nail services with regular polishes and gelish, pedicures are relaxing and has done nice flowers on toenails. I've always left with beautiful nails just the way I want them. Very reasonable prices!
