I strongly caution anyone considering Reliant Capitol as a contractor for home improvements. My wife suffers from Alzheimer’s and we needed to replace a shower with one that included safety bars and a removable shower head. The salesman assured me the work could be done quickly (start in 1 to 2 months) and that installation was a two day process. After 4 months of no word from Reliant Capitol I started phoning their installation office in Phoenix to see why there was such a long delay. Initially my calls were not returned, but through persistence I was eventually able to speak to someone in charge of installations. I expressed extreme displeasure with the lack of communication about our job and told them going forward they should inform me about any more delays or changes to the schedule. Despite their promises to do a better job, the next two months it took to install the shower were a series of broken schedules with no communication from the company. I specifically asked the installation not be started until all the necessary materials were on hand because our need to have access to a shower. Shower installation ballooned from 2 days to a month because the job started with incomplete and incorrect fixtures and they did not send shower doors. The installation crew would often promise to be back the next working day to complete the job, but it would be weeks before hearing from them again. The installation may well have taken longer had I not been on the phone demanding action. By the end of the job I wish I had never heard of Reliant Capitol. There is nothing reliable about this company.

A few months later I contacted Reliant because after one winter, the windows were drafty, filled up with water when it rains, and dust/dirt blow in. In spite of my several complaints, including to the Better Business Bureau, which got me no where, Reliant has not lived up their "lifetime" guarantee. They don't return calls. Customer service says, "I will have a manager call you back." That NEVER happens.
Response from Reliant Capitol
"Although we take this complaint seriously, we are surprised by the nature of it. In particular, we have no record of any of our windows ever leaking water. The work completed date of 5/9/15 does not match our records which indicate our last order contact in 2012. In addition, we have no record of any service calls from this customer recently at our local office in Albuquerque. We will contact this customer as soon as possible to confirm the nature of her concerns and schedule a service call to address any issues. Our goal is to resolve any concerns to the customers satisfaction."

If you go with Reliant Capitol expect to get a form of Jekyll and Hyde performance from them.
  • Perhaps the most important thing is the quality of their windows and installation.  With this there are no complaints, the quality of the windows and installation are outstanding.  They truly are excellent windows built for the NM climate.  We've had them for a few months now and they do indeed make a big difference.  The installation went quickly, professionally with no messes left behind.

But not far behind the actual product is customer service which is where Reliant Capitol leaves a lot to be desired.  The sales pitch is lengthy (over 2 hours) and not very fulfilling.  Worse, once the sale is made the salesman drops you like a bad habit forcing you to work with the office in Phoenix who don't care anything about you.  When they did install the windows they didn't obscure the glass in our bathroom so it needed to be replaced.  Again, not one person took ownership of this problem in the company and only after 6 or 7 calls by us to the Phoenix office did we get it resolved.  There literally isn't any "customer service", you only talk with installers and schedulers.  There also wasn't any apologies or regret on their end, never mind it took over 2 months to get the wrong window replaced.
I love the windows, they are great.  But I won't go back to them because I can't trust them to do things right.

Response from Reliant Capitol
"Although we are pleased with this customers satisfaction with our product and installation, we regret their specific negative experience with the service for the replacement piece of glass. This mistake should not have occurred. It is clear by the expressive nature of their complaint that the slow to respond service process was upsetting for them. This we take seriously. To prevent such issues in the future we have changed our service request process to be more locally monitored. This, we feel, will better expedite our customers service needs on the rare occasions that a service call may occur. Regarding the sales process time at the home, this is a function of the customers questions, the job complexity and various package options a customer may want to investigate. It is always our desire to neither under serve nor over serve our clients. We believe the sales consultation should be meaningful and add value to the overall experience with our company. We will take this feedback constructively and relay it to our sales staff. . Finally, we will notify this customer that if they do consider us for a project in the future we will offer them an additional 10% discount up to a value of $500.00 on any future work as compensation for their trouble"

Install went well, but it took forever to get them to come out. I had to call the install coordinator repeatedly.  Product came in and sat for about a month before I called install coordinator.

It was fine. The team of installers were very polite, kind to our children and protective of our home. They wore boots on their feet to avoid bringing in any additional dirt. They were efficient and timely. We were very impressed with the workmanship. We had previously had windows installed by another individual and there was no comparison as to the craftsmanship provided by Reliant Capitol. Would I use them again? You bet, they are returning this summer to do some more window installations.

When we purchased these windows, the company was called Century One Builders. They have since changed their name to Reliant Capital. We originally planned to replace only 10 windows, but because of better pricing, we decided to replace all windows and doors. When window delivery arrived, only half of windows were sent. Those were installed as planned, but had to wait several more weeks for the entire order. Installers were professional and did a good job.
The most recent problem occurred when we had a failed window that crystallized for no reason (December 2013). Even though we were not at fault and windows are supposed to be covered under warranty, the company claims that the glass and installation are not covered under the warranty, only the frames. This was certainly not represented to us this way when we purchased the windows. The sales rep specifically told us that if our windows broke and it was a "window failure", the company would replace our windows at no cost to us. If this is not the case, the company should make it VERY clear when they sell the windows that the warranty does not cover the GLASS or the installation. It seems to me that the glass is part of a window. We have been very disappointed in the warranty coverage for our windows.
In addition, we are constantly getting phone calls from Reliant Capital sales reps trying to sell us windows. We have told them innumerable times that their company has already replaced all of our windows, but the calls continue. Seems like they should be able to take us off their list.

I recieved a sales call that included windows which I had been considering. Paul the salesman, was very professional. Actually the first thing I told him was that my brother said not to buy vinyl windows (I didn't know his were vinyl). After he showed me his windows, how they are made, lifetime warranty, phone numbers of other clients near my home,,, I was sold. WE then wheel and dealed for a great price. Monte and Tommy then came and measured. Before you know it the windows were installed in a very professional manner. All the people very very kind. What can I say, I LOVE MY WINDOWS! THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! SO EASEY TO OPEN AND CLOSE AND CARE FOR!

They were doing some canvasing, and we liked what they had to say. The price seemed right, and we had the work done. The job was excellent. I have heard people say we could get the same thing done for less, but we have done business with Reliant, and liked the way they handled themselves. We decided to go with them for the windows. We thought the quality was excellent. They did a good job, on a timely basis. We would use them again.

Reliant Capitol provided us with an estimate for the project, helped us pick out a color and gave us an estimate on when the job would be done. They met all three estimates. The workmen were polite, informed and cleaned up after themselves. The job took several steps between applications so the workmen were on site several times. I am very satisfied with the results and would recommend them to others as well as use them on other projects.

They removed the old patio cover and built a new one. He cleaned up everything, hauled away the old one. My only hesitation on giving them a great review in all areas: The time between the original purchase and the final installation was slightly longer than I anticipated. Otherwise: Great job.

It looks good and is very sturdy, a great replacement for one that moved in our high winds. It took longer than I expected to get the materials from Arizona where they were built to New Mexico, but that was my only issue. The builder cleaned up completely, hauled away the old one, and consulted me when he had any questions. Nice job.
