Ray's Carpet One is a New Mexico family tradition of quality materials and professional installation since 1972. Our main focus is ensuring that each project is successful and each customer is satisfied with their experience. Emphasizing communication, education, and quality, with in house designers to help create your dream home. We take great pride in the quality of our employees. Many have been with us for over 10 years and we all work hard at making your experience with us pleasurable and as stress free as is possible. Over the years as we have grown, we have learned and implemented new installation types and are now proud to offer carpet installation. With our new Granite fabrication shop and water jet system, we can offer unending design options and solid surface counter installation. Expertise includes: .Sales and installation of solid and engineered hardwood flooring systems. .Repairs, sanding, finishing, and staining of existing solid wood floors. .Artisan hand-treatments to wood floors such as hand-scraping and distressing. .Custom stone and tile installation, including borders & inlays, waterproofing & sealing .Carpet sales and installation in both commercial and residential applications. .Granite fabrication and installation.

The scheduled time was set for 0800, but the crew didn't show up until 10. They stated that their crew chief had them go to another job prior to mine being done and therefore they were late getting started on my job. Their should have been better communication between the store and myself so that was we all could be on the same page.

It went absolutely great. From the moment we were helped by Lee to select our carpet to the time the carpet arrived and installed we couldn't have been happier. Lee was very pleasant to deal with and the installers were extremely nice and very professional and tidy. All in all for an experience we dreaded it was quite enjoyable. We are very happy and would recommend Ray's to anyone!

Ray's did a great job with both my carpet and vinyl plank flooring.  I solicited many bids for this work and Ray's price for vinyl plank flooring was (by far) the best and the initial carpet bid was pretty good too, but I had better offers.  However, Laura did a great job price matching my other bid and I was pleased to use them for the entire job.  The end product looked fabulous.
I was initially put off by the long lead time quoted to me.  However, when I told Laura I was in a hurry she put her foot on the gas and made the job happen in less than a week.  Overall, I am pleased to have chosen Ray's.

This went very well.  The workers moved my appliances, removed the very old vinyl, put down the new floor to my specifications.Everything was done cleanly and it took less time than they had estimated.  That was more than a year ago and it's fine.  I honestly don't remember how much it cost so that is an estimate and that is why I did not give an A rating for cost.  I chose this company because I decided to work with a particular individual who works there and did not get competitive quotes.

Both Gabe Smith and Joe Duran were very professional.  They took time to talk about flooring options - both wood and tile and gave us a number of things to consider.  Ultimately we went with tile and Joe worked with us all the way through scheduling.  Larry did the installation and I don't know that I've ever seen better work.  He was on time the first day and worked to our schedule to have the work done the day before we moved in.  It wasnt' an easy installation.  It required floor leveling and some detail cuts to fit to non-standard adobe walls.   He came back after we moved to clean up and remove all the installation debris from both the carpet removal and tile installation.  I would use Ray's again if we wanted more work done.

Was unable to be completed because of wrong t-molding, but they were very prompt in reordering the correct pieces and it was completed fairly rapidly.

It didn't go very well. They were always late, I would be up until 9 o'clock at night waiting for them to show up and they've got lots of excuses and not getting the work done so we wouldn't use them again. They used the wrong color of grout that we had ordered and then when they came to fix it they didn't know what color it was and we spent a lot of time trying to solve it out, we still haven't really come to a conclusion at the end but it wasn't good. They put the carpet in the master bedroom and they used the end of the roll and it flipped back on itself so it looked like the carpet was laid the wrong way. Instead of them fixing it because they knew what caused it, we had to call them out, make appointments and they don't just come out and fix it when they do the work, you have to make another appointment and when I'm running late I wait for them, I was there at 9 o'clock at night and these people came to my house and they don't really fix it. They're always running late, they don't just come out and fix it, they make a lot of excuses, and I guess that was my main thing I just kind of want it where I want and they should say they would do it for me and fix it instead of passing the book to whoever installed it. Their secretary was nice.

"Dear Member, I understand your frustration, but it is necessary to give the full story of our relationship. We were not hired by you directly, we were hired by the company who built the subdivision in which you live. We have an entirely separate builder division which handles this part of our business and the logistics are entirely different. The scheduling, product choice, service work, and many other factors are controlled and managed by the general contractor that we work for. It is always our desire to limit the frustration any client may face, however when many new homes are being built, there are many inherent issues. The timelines on tract house construction are not entirely conducive to the end users overall satisfaction and so much of what we do depends on the trades before and after us. We will make sure that your experience causes changes in the way we communicate with all of our clients and we apologize for our lack in this area. Please keep in mind that our main goal is providing a product that will keep you happy for years and years beyond the initial installation and that we warranty our labor for the lifetime of the product. While there may have been initial frustration, we know that years from now it will pale in comparison with the durability and beauty of your floors. Thank you."

We were not that happy with the process of getting it done. Their communication left a lot to be desired. It was scheduled for a particular time. They were late in the delivery of the materials and the process took a lot longer than we anticipated. They had said it would be finished in about a week and it wound up being about two and a half weeks. Their internal communication was a real problem. The workers were very good and we have no complaints about them. But, management didn't seem to get messages to the people who were actually doing the work. We'd have to constantly follow up and as to when are they coming. The gentleman, who I think was the owner was unavailable at times. I think he was out of town and he wouldn't necessarily call back. It was a frustrating process. In the end, the work was done well. It was just a frustrating process.

When we removed the carpet in your room there were substantial issues with the cracks and the flatness of the concrete. This involved much more concrete preparation than was initially anticipated. This changed the scope of work substantially and it appears that this was not communicated to you. In the end what is most important to us is that you were delivered a quality product that is beautiful and enhances not just your home, but also your lifestyle. Sometimes this takes longer than we anticipate. We are continually working on our communication issues and again we apologize for how you felt. There is no doubt that what you commented about our installers is true. We agree wholeheartedly that they are the best crews in the state."
