The end result of the patio was fairly good, but it took a lot of work on my end to get there. The owner came out and gave me a $500 estimate and then doubled it after thinking it over for the afternoon. Scheduling the job took several weeks, and the day they were supposed to come with the concrete, they didn't show at the appointed time. When I called, the owner said there had been an issue with the truck so they couldn't come that day--he didn't seem to think he needed to call and let me know, even though I had stayed home from work for the appointment. When they finally did show up for the job, the guys working on the patio trampled several plants in the back yard and left trash and cigarette butts everywhere, which they never cleaned up. They also neglected to finish areas around the edges of the patio / near the house and just left gaping holes. I had to call them about that and the owner came out and finished them by hand, but it didn't look great and didn't match the finish of the rest of the patio. Overall, pretty unprofessional.

The patio ended up looking quite nice, but they were not easy to deal with. First, he quoted me $500 for the job and then doubled that amount after thinking about it more and wouldn't meet me in the middle. It was difficult to get the job scheduled and once we did, they never showed up on the day appointed. I called and he said they'd had an issue with the cement truck--but he didn't bother to tell me this, even though I'd stayed home from work to let them in. The guys who poured the patio trampled a bunch of plants and left cigarette butts and trash in my yard. I was glad for the job to be done so i could wash my hands of them.

Jim's crew did a fabulous, high-quality job for us. We are very pleased with all aspects of the work performed, professionalism, clean-up, and price. Thank you very much and we will certainly refer!

The owner had some excellent suggestions. The project went very well and we felt the price was competitive. They came back 3 days after pouring to remove the forms and clean up. Would defiitely recommend!

OK - owner was prompt in reply to deal and came out to scope job. After that point, he was difficult to reach by phone - tried to confirm the day before, as I was taking off work to be there and got no reply. He had told me it would take one day, but he only sent one worker and the large porch was only 1/2 demolished by 2 when I called him to ask about status, when he claimed it could still get it done that day, even though that was ridiculous. He said he was a man short and would send a second person the next day to finish the job. Even with the second guy on the second day, they did not start pouring concrete until about 2:30. I reminded them that I had discussed sloping away from the house with the owner and they said it was not a problem, but I think they rushed it because the outer quadrant of the porch puddled after the first rain. I sent the owner photos of the puddles and he did have them come out and replace that quadrant to make it right. I doubt that would have been done if they were not worried about this review.

Workers arrived exactly when Jim said they would, but there was confusion as to scope of the job, they thought they were only covering 2/3 of the area when all of it needed mud. So I called Jim, he came over, conferred with the guys and a new plan for full coverage was agreed upon and an extra 2 yards of Fiesta-colored mud ordered from Coyote. Work was very good, there were stress cracks from where the forms around the fireplace cleanout and gas meter, but that's to be expected. A little bit of ponding where the new concrete meets the patio, but it sure beats the loads of silt that would flow in from heavy rains.

The owner was pleasant and helpful. I would be concerned because the employee didn't know how to deal with the certain kind of concrete that we had.

I was very pleased with the work done that they did for me. They listened to my requests and they were easy to work with. They were kind enough to move some patio furniture that was too heavy for me.
