We had been using Preferred as primary plumbing service for years past, so when the job arose to start a landscaping project, we naturally called them first. Management has made a shift at Preferred Plumbing whereas the owner's son led onsite work and performed most of customer contact. The owner's son was sullen, disagreeable, and contentious every step of the way. Because of the negative experience with Preferred, upon the end of the job, we had decided not to use them as a plumber in the future and move on.
Fourteen months later, one of the shutoff valves installed by Preferred burst and flooded the yard. The repairing plumber reported that the valve had been threaded onto the main line and over tightened, causing a latent fracture. Then, two weeks ago, the same thing happened to a second valve installed by Preferred, though not as explosive, requiring the hiring of a leak detection service to pinpoint the cause. Since this was more than one year after the work was performed, it was out of warranty.
Total cost has topped $1000 for correcting the issues resulting from what appears to be a passive aggressive response from an unhappy child of the owner.

Within a few days of contacting Preferred Plumbing, Dave Molisee met with me to discuss the system that would meet my needs and to take measurements required for sizing the system. Within a week I had a written estimate of the work. The company worked with me to find a schedule that matched my time commitments for my day job. The work was begun on the agreed date. There was a lot of plumbing work to be done under the house and inside the house to place the radiators. This work was all done tidily and with a minimum of disruption to my living arrangements. The lead plumber, who installed the boiler while his helper ran pipes, answered all my questions and carefully explained how the system operates. As one might expect from the age of the house, there were challenges to overcome during installation. These were met with resourcefulness and adequately addressed. Each change in the main work order was separately addressed by a written estimate; in every case, the additional work was repair of faulty installations that had been made by other plumbing companies. Throughout this major renovation, the only annoyance was that the workers did not always arrive at the time they had arranged for. Upon the completion of the work, a city inspector came and looked at all aspects of the work and also at every appliance that is connected to the natural gas line. He was unable to give a and quot;passand quot; due to improper installation of the water heater, which had been done in 2010 and was NOT done by Preferred Plumbing. Mr. Molisee's crew fixed the mistakes made by the other company in an expedient manner, and the second inspection was successful.

Unfortunately, this need arose at the same time as and quot;change overand quot;, so had to wait a week for an appointment, but Preferred came highly recommended.
We have more than one bathroom, so it wasn't an emergency.
I don't know what the wait period would have been with other companies.
He was very professional and courteous and didn't leave any mess behind.
He was very helpful in making suggestions how to best handle water questions in case of prolonged vacations.

They did an excellent job. They did some other things that needed to be done too. They were very responsive. They were on time. They were punctual. I would use them again in the future.

We've started the project with them but they are yet to begin the work. They seemed like they were going to give a good honest price and they seemed to include all of those possibilities in their scope of work. We have been estimated an amount of $15000 for the mechanical system and $8000 for the plumbing.

Preferred plumbing was a subcontractor on an addition ($210K). Knowing that we had difficult well water issues (hydrogen sulfide) we requested a solution that worked in the rest of our house. They refused to use that product, (Kinetico). Within 2 weeks of the completion of the project, we could not use the bathroom because of the smell. Preferred suggested a "fix" for $4000 out of our pocket, that had no effect. We recently replaced the treatment system with the one we requested. Problem solved.

We use them all the time and they have been great. We had a leak a couple of years ago when we were out of town and our house sitter called. We called them and they rearranged their schedule to go out and work on our place so we would have water when we returned home. They went out of their way to help us out. We also had a leak in the line coming into the house and they came on fairly short notice to fix it. We have used them for other things also. I don't think they are the cheapest, but the quality of work and timeliness is very important when you have water leaking everywhere. I would absolutely continue to use them.

They arrived one hour late from the quoted time. The job went smooth except for the leaking valve.

Scheduling was easy and accomidated our schedule, they called before coming and came early. He had no problem diagnosing what needed to be done, had all the necessary parts, and accomplished it in a timely manner - plus fixed a faucet.

THEY TOOK A LITTLE WHILE TO FIX THE TOILET, AN EXTRA DAY EVEN. THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL WASN'T REALLY FIXED, BUT AT LEAST WATER STILL PASSES THROUGH IT. THEY HAD QUICK SERVICE.
