I first interacted with a professional who helped me decide upon the best flooring options for my home. She spent about an hour in my home and we talked about my needs. She worked up a bid and sent it to me that day. After I signed the contract, The project manager came out and looked at my home. He determines the size of the crew and the timeframe for the job. The crew arrived right on time and got to work. It was a big job but they did excellent work. The demolished old tile and laminate/bamboo floor downstairs and replaced it all with porcelain tile. Upstairs they tore out all the tile in the bathroom and replaced it with porcelain tile. They also tore out the old carpet from two rooms and put down new carpet in those rooms and also on the stairs. There were a few trim issues they handled as well. The cleanup and final wrapup of the project brought forward a few issues but the company was very responsive and sent a team out to correct the items. This is not a bargain basement company so if you are looking to do a project maybe for a rent house, for example, you might want to try another outfit. They did really solid work but that kind of craftsmanship costs money. I am very happy with my floors but this is my home so I was willing to spend more than I had originally planned because I wanted it done right.

The installation work done by Bob was outstanding. His attention to detail insured the installed materials were done to perfection. Communication from the sales person, to the supervisor, to the owner was not up to the professional standards a company like Poulin Design should tolerate. I picked out a semi-frame less glass shower enclosure in the showroom for my project. A fully framed glass shower enclosure was installed. I picked out a bathroom vent with light and night light. A vent with just light was installed. The bottom/drain pan for the shower did not fit to the existing drain. The hole was cut in the wrong place. I stated for the contract that I wanted a rain shower, centered on the shower stall (24' from finished wall to center of shower) and the diverter valve, to switch from rain shower head to wall mounted adjustable hand shower, be located just above the shower on/off main valve because of the 9 foot ceiling height. Poulin showed up with a rain shower head attached to a 16" shower arm with the diverter valved mounted above the rain shower head (nine feet up). Normally a rain shower comes directly down from the ceiling, with the plumbing going through the attic. I did not want the potential of freezing, so I directed the shower arm come out close to the ceiling (nine foot) and attached the rain shower head. They plumbed it for the original height of the 1960 bathroom, far below the ceiling height. I had to fight and demand they build to the contract of ceiling height, diverter valve above the main shower valve, and rain shower centered to the shower. The shower pan with the hole cut in the wrong place was the fault of the supervisor, who only stated "I gave them the wrong dimensions". Just a blank stare, "I gave them the wrong dimensions". So now what are you going to do ? He said it would take 6 week to get it into the production line. Contract signed March 16, 2018. Called May 15 to see when I would be placed on the schedule. They stated they were waiting on one material that had not arrived. Called May 25th, all parts were in but they had to check to make sure everything was as ordered. Received a call they would start June 21st. June 21st came and no workers. Called Poulin and the supervisor said they will start June 25th. Waited an entire month for Poulin to check and verify everything was correct and ready to start construction. The shower pan was wrong, the diverter valve was wrong the shower arm length was wrong, the fan was wrong, and a week from completion discovered the glass enclosure was wrong. A list by item and price was not provided, only the bottom line cost. No schedule was provided. Talked with Tom Poulin, owner. For all the delays, trouble, wrong materials, and demands by me to do the job according to the contract, he gave me $475.68 credit. The final cost was $15,827.67. or 3% back. An outstanding punch list remains to fix the shower valves. Substantial completion was July 31, 2018. Today is August 28, 2018.

Paid 450 for design fee and had to wait 2 weeks for a measure. Then was not contacted for 2 weeks from them so had to call to follow up and was another week till got estimate. Was going to sign with them anyway because felt invested ( time and money) but the lady was very unprofessional and lost them a cash sale. Sent and e-mail to the owner that months of my time was wasted and was requesting 1/2 of my design fee back ( since my design was simple and small, should not have took 3 weeks to do). Was told to refer to the contract about design fee nonrefundable. Luckily got both my kitchen done and my bathroom remodeled somewhere else for same price as kitchen at Poulin. Thanks Poulin for blowing off my $20,000 job and treating me like a nobody.

"We apologize that you were not satisfied with our services. We believe every customer's time is important at Poulin. We have been serving New Mexicans for over 34 years. With every kitchen remodel there is a cost to have services performed by a professional designer and their team of construction specialists. They spend hours helping our clients select product, generate a design and draft plans to construct the job. Then we have a Project Coordinator estimate the job and perform a site check and construction and code review. This ensures the project to run smoothly and that our customers are happy with their selections, design and production of their job. We charge the design review at time of service and if you purchase the kitchen from Poulin we apply it as part of the down payment of your kitchen. If you decide to not have us build your kitchen it is nonrefundable. We believe this is an open and honest approach instead of saying it is free design when it is really hidden in the cost. Our Designer reviewed all of the terms of the design agreement with you before we started and you approved it with your signature. The Poulin Design Center provides complete customer satisfaction with a double guarantee of lowest price, highest quality guarantee. It is unfortunate that we were not able to gain your business."

We decided we wanted our kitchen cabinets redone and the floor replaced and went over to Poulin Design and met with Terri, who was a great help thru the design process.  We had decided to spend about $25,000.  Then I decided I wanted to change the type of floor covering we chose for the kitchen so the cost did go up a little.  When Terri and team came over to take measurements for the work plan, my husband asked them to take down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. Big jump in construction with the appropriate associated costs.  Turns out the original builder did not put a header beam in the load bearing wall we had them take down.  Chris, the project manager, came over several times to check what would be needed.  He was very careful and put down tarps and cleaned everything.  We did most of the planning in Spring, but I didn't want any construction to start till Sept.  Chris and Terri where great about keeping in communication with us.   Before construction started we asked for the add on of redoing the living room and hall floors as well. It did add a chuck more to the cost. Our old floors were tile and it took 2 days of labor to get them out and prepped for wood.

This was way more than a kitchen update so the 4 weeks it took was not a surprise.  (It was like indoor camping) A two man team came in and did all the construction (demo, removing the wall, installing cabinets and redoing some plumbing, painting kitchen and dining room.)  Phillip and Chris (different Chris) did a great job.  They really know what they're doing and they were so easy to have around.  They were on time, They cleaned up every day.  They kept us in the loop with what was going on.  When Chris had to be out of town, Robert came in to help, and he was great too.  Quality work from the team

The electrical work was done by a different company, True Light Electrical, and they (Moe and Doug) were also very professional.

The floors on their own took a week because of all the cleaning and leveling needed.  Our old floors were  tile and it took 2 days of labor to get them out and the slab prepped for wood.  A very dusty process but Phillip had sealed the upstairs so it wasn't horrible.

We LOVE the finished product. The cabinets are beautiful.  The neighbors kept stopping by in the process to see what was going on and they were impressed with the outcome too.  (If you go over to Poulin, Terri can show you some pics)

Yes, it cost way more than what we originally planned, but we were the ones that kept adding stuff on, so it wasn't a surprise.  We think we got our monies worth. So great job and thanks, Phillip, Chris, Robert, Chris, Terri, Albert, Richard and Josh!

The job was to be started in 4 to 6 weeks from the date the contract was signed and a down payment made.  Instead, they did not begin work until almost 12 weeks after we paid 50% as down payment.  The work was to be completed in 3 to 5 days.  However, it actually took one month from the day they started.  In July, when they finally began the work, they advised us that 30% of the drawers were missing as well as 20% of the doors, 2 out of 3 trim pieces , and the quarter round strips and bottom trim.  One cabinet door arrived at our house split on the edge.

The cabinet doors were to be installed with new hinges in new holes because the existing holes were worn out.  Instead, they installed the doors in existing holes and two doors fell off within two weeks.  Several hinges were missing the required screws.  On one hinge they had used sheet rock screws instead of wood screws.  Two drawers were installed visibly crooked. The existing cabinet edges, which would remain visible, were to be sanded and stained per discussion with the salesman.  Instead, they painted them and told us they couldn't stain them.  The visible side panel faces (applied to the cabinet sides) were rough-cut with a saber saw which left jagged and frayed edges visible.

One month after we complained, they came out to discuss the problems.  They did say they were willing to remount the falling cabinet doors.  However, they could not guarantee that their work would be any different from what they originally did.  Therefore, we declined their offer.  Their workman had had plenty of time and the opportunity to do the work properly and in a workman-like manner the first time but they didn't.  We decided to redo all the cabinet door mountings ourselves.

"We apologize that your project installation didn't go as planned. Normally it is our standard procedure to check all custom ordered material prior to starting the job. Apparently this was not done on your project for which we regret. Our records show your job started on 7/7/14 of last year. The delay in job start was due to the manufacturer rejecting the order due to a discontinued color. The new order lead time was approximately six weeks causing the job start delay. Unfortunately we are dependent on manufacture lead times, over road freight delivery and product changes in our business. Our records show that the job was substantially complete on 7/10/14 on the same day an incomplete work order was executed three days after job start. This was due to the manufacturer not shipping all required cabinet doors and drawers. Upon receiving them we proceeded to complete job on 8/1/14. At The Poulin Design Center we have been providing complete customer satisfaction for over 32 years. Your job is still covered under your two year warranty, we'd be happy to warranty any defects in workmanship. Please contact our customer service team to schedule any warranty service needed. Tom Poulin Owner"

Craftmanship, details, finish work all excellent.  Especially appreciated that two men were in charge of all aspects of the project from start to finish.  They were on site at all times to oversee or to do the actual work, from electrical to plumbing to counter tops and cabinetry.  That consistency made all the difference.
We are now beginning the design of bathroom remodels with this company.

The job went well.  I was nervous that the grab bars would crack the cultured marble shower walls as I was required to sign a waiver of liability since ReBath would not guarantee since I had "cultured" marble.
Nonetheless, the job went well, no cracking (so far) and if it does crack, I will call Re-bath back for a complete remodel.  What choice do I have!

I didn't have as many problems with them as much as the contractors that they hired. I would not use them again for a job. They didn't pay enough attention to detail. I found out later, when one of their foreman left their pricing book,  that their profit margin was double what their cost was. I still have issues that were not taken care of. They were usually here on time, and they were real prompt before I paid them anything. They talked a good game, but when it came down to it, it wasn't good. I went with them because they had a AAA rating with BBB.

"Poulin Design Remodeling apologizes if we have hurt you in any way. This job was completed over 10 years ago and are surprised to see your review here. We have not heard from you that there were any items left undone except through this review. Our goal is to provide complete customer satisfaction by exceeding our customer expectations. We also guarantee the lowest price with the highest quality. I encourage you to contact me direct to discuss if there would be anything we could do to earn your trust back. They came on time, very courteous, knew what he was doing.  Named the plaster markings and followed it so that I would never know there was a break in the ceiling.  Very satisfied with work.  They aren't the cheapest but I don't want the cheapist, I want the most qualified at a reasonable price.  I got the quality I wanted and it was worth the money.  It has been a long time since I used them because I have not had a problem but I won't hesitate to use them again.

The project was a little chopped up and we had to wait on certain items to be delivered. There are always glitches in a big project like this. When it all came together it was absolutely and amazingly beautiful. I would say I am so happy with the work they did. They were always on time and worked in my home in a complete professional manner. The were a delight to work with and I would certainly recommend them to family and friends.

They estimated that the job would take three days; it took six.  I'm not sure it was their fault and they stuck with it through all the unexpected problems.  They did a good job
An electrician came out and did the electrical work.  That took less than a day.  He also helped them carry the old tub out.  It was very heavy.  The plumbing was done by the same man who all the rest of the work.  He was very good--polite, courteous, and skilled.  He did, however, disappear for long periods of time, apparently getting supplies.  This was a new make of tub that they had been selling for only a short time.
After installation an inspector came out and spotted a few (4) finishing touches that needed to be done.  He will have the installer come back and do them.  That hasn't happened yet but we are sure that it will.

The salesman came to my home to show his samples. I chose a glossy marble-like finish. Their product seemed better than their competitor, Refitters. I preferred Re-bath's procedure - to install 3 separate walls of acrylic with a high grade silicone in the corners. Refitters is a one-piece unit. The Re-bath quote was almost $5,000, but they would give me @ $400 discount. I thought that was still alot of money just to redo a shower stall. The Re-Bath salesman told me if I obtained another quote from a similar company, they would match it. I then met with Refitters. Refitters gave me the excellent idea of not replacing my shower door, but having a curtain, because of my concern of having to squeegee both the shower walls and shower door. (I don't like the addeded work in the mornings! After reading various Internet articles about Re-bath being a superior product, I decided to stay with Re-Bath & submitted the 2nd quote to Re-bath to match it. I then went to the Re-Bath showroom with my $3,000 quote and they were willing to match it. Upon seeing their products in person, I decided against the glossy finish and chose a beautiful rough slate look, which, of course, wouldn't require the use of the squeege and it would be be upgrading to a higher price. I didn't mind, as I was happy with the new price of $3,800. I even upgraded the faucet! After waiting only a few weeks, the product came in and the installation date was set up. The installer was a polite, friendly, courteous professional plumber who was very meticulous in everything he did. He laid down a protective floor covering from the entrance of my home, all the way to the bathroom. He was very neat and tidy while working on my tiny bathroom, always cleaning up after himself. He even did extra things and did not charge me for it. For instance, the salesman told me only the first two bottom rows of the tile would be removed and new drywall would be installed. He removed way more than two rows and also replaced my 50-year old downstop and Ptrap at no charge due to the "gunk" that had collected in those pipes. He did a beautiful job installing the drywall, shower pan, and acrylic walls. Even the grout work he did was perfect. He provided his business card in case we ever had a question! The plumber was very enthusiastic about the product and loved installing it, as he was just as anxious as I was to see how my new bathroom would look! The product is guaranteed not to chip, crack, peel or dent and has a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. He completed the job in 1-1/2 days. It looks very, very nice! I am a very happy camper!
