They did a horrible job because they left a gap in between and I fix it. They lie and over charge me by 200$ to put a top soil for the flower bed that should suppose to cover from the service that should be done.

FANTASTIC!  After having our original waterfall and pond installed a couple of years ago we were left disappointed with the result.  (We used a different landscaper at that time).  We decided to call Pete's for an estimate and James met with us right away.  He developed a plan for a bigger waterfall and pond on the spot, no waiting for a rendering or the estimate!  We paid the deposit and work began about a week later.  The end result is so much better than we ever could have imagined.  The workers were very clean and professional and took great care not to cause any damage to our existing landscaping.  Super Friendly and prompt.  Every question was answered and our wants and needs met without hesitation.  Thomas was amazing to work with and was able to problem solve quickly and as a result, gave us exactly what we asked for and more.  We now have a beautiful waterfall and pond!  Can't wait to add plants and fish to complete our vision!  Worth every penny!  Thank you everyone at Pete's Landscaping for your amazing service!  We now have a Landscaper for life and will recommend Pete's to all of our friends and family!

They lied all the way. When the guy delivered there was a delivery fee that the women on the phone did not tell me about. To avoid this, I accepted the two cords the guy was pushing that turned out to be 1.7 cords when I measured it. Never again.

First, the good news.  Pete's did an excellent job removing the tree.  In fact, once the work was completed, there was no sign that a tree had ever stood in that location.  They removed the trunk to below ground level, made sure the ground in the area was level, and did a great job of cleaning up.  The quality of this work makes the bad news even more of a head scratcher.  Now, the bad news.  We have two square planters surrounding ash trees in our backyard.  We also hired Pete's to repair the brick work on the planters.  Many bricks had come off the planters over the years and needed to be re-mortared.
The quality of the work performed on the planters is awful.  First, the brickwork is uneven.  It looks like my 8-year old son did the work.  Describing it as slapdash would be giving Pete's too much credit.  The only way to describe it is that it is as if the person who didn't just didn't care how it came out.  We are very disappointed.  Second, to add insult to injury, Pete's left a mess.  They did not clean up the excess mortar around the planters; just left it on the grass.  Then, several days later, we discovered a pile of excess mortar dumped in the extreme back corner of our yard.  We know it wasn't there before and can't think of how else it got there.
In sum, while the tree removal was done well, the brick work is a disaster.  Simply put, Pete's should be ashamed of themselves for the poor quality of that work.  My wife called to let them know what we thought of the (lack of) quality of the brickwork and, of course, was told that someone in management would get back to her.  Well, you've probably already guessed ? we're still waiting for that call.
Excluding tax, the tree removal portion of the cost was $98.75.  The brick repair -- if you can even call it that -- cost $446.40.  Simply put, we were ripped off.
We gave Pete's C grades for price, responsiveness, and punctuality.  Quoted prices (for good quality work) were fair, and they showed up on time.   But what good is "please" and "thank you" if the work is terrible?
Response from Pete's Landscaping & Materials LLC
"Pete's strive in customer satisfaction . I spoke with {removed member name} and her concern from our conversation was the calcium (white spots) that were on the new brick installed. I assured her that the calcium in the concrete causes this. I'm terribly sorry if you were not happy with the installation. If you would give us the opportunity to correct any issues I will be happy to schedule at your request. Please contact Sandra @822-9822"

Ordered firewood through Pete's. Delivered in one business day. Delivered to driveway and off to the side so that we could still use our driveway until we moved the firewood. Their price was a little higher than others in town but the service was great.

They were really good. They did a very good job. They were very hard workers. They were on time and got it done. They were professional and did an excellent job. Pete's was within $300.00 of two other estimates. Pete's estimate was detailed with costs, which we liked. The price was fair.

Overall the experience was great.  Our estimate was done quickly and thoroughly with specifics detailed very well.  We even called back to add the gravel replacement when we got our original estimate for sod.  The crew came out within a week of the estimate and did a wonderful job in less than a day.  They even replaced some sprinkler heads and moved a couple to allow for more efficient watering of the lawn.  It has been almost 6 months and the lawn is doing great and the backyard looks brand new again.

Pete's Landscaping advertises selling a cord of wood but then delivers less than a cord of wood.Pete's called me to sell me a full cord of wood for $205.  Recently, their driver attempted to deliver approximately 2/3 of a full cord -- basically 2 rows instead of 3 rows as well as 7' wide instead of 8' wide -- the delivery truck is only 7' wide.  They tried to deliver a load that was 3' x 4' x 7'(84 cu ft) which would be a $70 over charge for a cord.  A cord is a unit of measure 4' x 4' x 8' (128 cu ft).  Their driver wanted to dump the firewood load prior to measurement and then when told of the shortage promised to deliver more wood later.  I let him know that I could pay less for the short delivery but would not pay for a full cord.  He called his office and relayed that it is a full cord and either pay for it or don't.  I called the office, whereby the owner stated either take it or leave it.  She stated that they measure the wood when it leaves the wood lot and admitted that in fact the delivery was a short cord with dimensions they measured of 3.5' x 4' x 7' (98 cu ft) - even this would be an over charge of $48 per cord.  I decided against accepting the short cord and told the driver thanks -- the driver was pleasant and apologized.  The over charge per cord is significant.  I have been a long time customer of Pete's and this under delivery is habitual whereby their driver promises to deliver the difference every time.

The results were horrible! They sent out workers who did not know what they were doing. They built a kiva that was a monstrosity. They planted bushes and trees in areas that were too small for the particular types of plant. I could never get ahold of the original planner; he acted as though he was too busy to be bothered with me.

I called on Tuesday 9/11and was told they could come out Saturday Morning. They called Saturday and came out in the early afternoon. I let them go to work and went inside. When I came out they had most of the controls cut out of the ground. They explained that the PVC used was not rated for water pressure and they needed to rebuild it. Having little choice, I okayed it and they left with the parts. On Tuesday they came back to re-install it.  After a couple hours it was back in and ready to wire. The worker was spanish speaking only-which created the problem. He wanted to get to the control box in the garage. I tried to explain that it was working perfectly and he needed to match up the wiring in the control box and leave the garage alone. I went in to show him and he proceeded-against my protestations-to rip the wiring off the garage box. That created chaos, as I knew the wiring had been changed before when I had a problem and the colors didn't match. I called his supervisor, who called the worker and told him to stop. Listening to the worker's part of the conversation, he referred to me in a derogatory way, thinking I did not understand. The supervisor agreed to come by after work that day, which he did, but was unable to fully fix it in 2 hours. He also promised we would not be charged as he realized the worker goofed. He rigged it to work and said he would come back Thursday. No call Thurs-finally Friday they said they would be back Saturday to work on it. Saturday a different guy came and we had to re-explain what had happened and after about an hour and a half. I finally was able to show him which wire was wrong and we got it fixed. THEN, I received a cash register receipt tape in the mail-only that-stating I owed $877 for the job. There was no full itemizing-just $232 for parts and I think it was 9 hours of work. I did not see $232 worth of parts with any stretch of the imagination, as the bigger 'box' was the only part plus a few pieces of PVC, and the box was available online for $65 retail. And 9 hours was ridiculous. I went by in person to talk to them and was told Pete, Jr. would call me. This was Thurs. By the next Tuesday I called again and was told again he would call. I went by 4 times in person and called numerous times with no luck to even DISCUSS the bill. Finally, I was told a revised bill was sent to me in the mail and soon received another invoice cash register tape with a couple things written on the back and a reduction from $877 to around $575, explaining I got charged too much for parts, and they took off a 'few' hours. I never did get to talk to anyone about it. I paid it, and they DID do a good job (it appears) on the control box, but I will never call them again for anything. I was never apologized to for the derogatory language of the worker, either.

Our experience with Pete's was much the same as others on Angie's list.
Work began with gusto while totally ignoring our supplied plan. The patio was only 50% of what the plan called for. Additionally, no slab was poured, bricks were placed on un-compacted sand. Plants were initially not installed per the design. Weed barrier was poorly installed. An existing hose bib was removed from the front of the house which I paid to have installed last year. They charged me to reinstall it.
The patio is now the correct size but no slab was poured. Instead they smeared a couple of inches of concrete over some loose earth and sand. We made nightly complaints via email to the home office. I photo documented the entire process. Some corrections were made while new mistakes were introduced. What should have taken 4 or 5 days dragged on for weeks. Some of the plants are already dead and I know we will have to fight with them next year to replace. I will be surprised if I don't have to completely redo the patio in a couple of years. They left our front yard in a mess, shorted us on crusher fines and damaged our driveway apron with their front loader. Some of these items were corrected. The driveway was not repaired.
The job site supervisor and the so called designer were dishonest. They accused me of changing specifications when their contract referenced my existing landscape plan. I asked several times to speak with Pete Jr. the owner and I was promised that he would stop by. He never showed up.
After numerous call backs and some additional corrections, we finally gave up and accepted the work. We paid them off today but I really should have taken them to court. If my wife and I did not work full time we would have, but it probably would have been a wash with the lost working hours and the headache of dealing with the court system.
I urge you to run far away from Pete's Landscaping! I made a serious mistake by not checking Angie's list first!

The wood was delivered Monday morning as agreed upon. I stacked and measured the wood later in the day and that's when I discoverd that Pete's had only delivered only 93 cubic feet of firewood and not the standard 128 cu. feet thats a standard cord of wood. I immedately called Pete's and spoke to the supervisor, she aksed what my measurement were and I gave them to her, she stated someone would be by Tuesday to check the measurement and drop off the balance of my wood, I waited till around 3pm and no one showed so I called and was told they had the information and to expect them to come by Wed afternoon When no one showed by 4pm I called again and the supervisor said they would deliver the wood Thursday morning which did not happen, so I called again and was told the superivor was gone for the day. I called again on Friday morning and the supervisor was not happy to hear from me but I was determined to receive what I had paid for, she stated they would be out and drop off more wood, told something about her driver had made a mistake and that why I did not get my wood on Thursday as promised. Even with the wood they dropped off on Friday I am still short about 10 cu. feet but at least its closer to what I paid for.

Their service is very good.  They were willing to carry the material up to my second story apartment, which most service providers weren't willing to do.  The week before another wood company was supposed to do the job, they laughed at me and said they would not do it, so I appreciate Pete's doing the work that others wouldn't.  The wood was great.

The job got off to a rocky start. First, they misunderstood the contracted size of the patio. Second, they sent a lesser-trained team to do the installation. We were very unhappy with the job that they did. Pete, the owner, came to the house, saw the poor job, and offered to rip it out and do it over. We are very happy with the redone patio. The team of installers that did the final job, were very professional and skilled.

This is a complaint for Pete’s Top Quality Landscaping.  Years of dreams for us have  turned into a nightmare.  We asked them to install a patio.  We wanted a centerpiece in the middle of the patio with two bears that I had personally helped carve out of quartz, with a nice design around it.  James the design consultant never once drew anything showing a circle, or wrote the word bear on any contract. We should have known then our dreams were not going to come true. We had three large squares of brown concrete poured, they drew their expansion lines, salted it, then balanced on a piece of plywood  and tried to drop the bears off center  into the concrete, then used our fire pit lid to make the circle around it. Then they left for another job.  It was so off center and poorly done, that we immediately called Pete’s office asking them to please get someone out before it dried. 3 hours later one man shows, and does the very worst /best he could.  They used and took 1 of my 2 new buckets to haul concrete in.   Day 3- they put down grey concrete and started laying the flagstone using gray grout instead of a grout that would match the concrete. They left huge chunks of concrete in the expansion joints, some so full of grout that water can’t flow down them to drain.  The outside edge slopes up so water doesn’t drain.  They didn’t even attempt to smooth any of the work or clean gray off the brown, and left.    I called the office  two times in the next hr and ½ pleading with Sandra to please get someone out to fix this before it dried , but was told they knew what they were doing, and to sit tight. Third call I got very heated. Thomas, the foreman, shows 3 hrs later and says they would get it all cleaned up and that it would look great.    Day 4-Poor quality re-grout around most of the pieces we asked to be done, There are so many cracks around the flagstone pieces, and this is after just 2 weeks,  it still continues to crack more each day.  We also wanted a 2x8 lattice privacy fence put up behind the patio.  They left one man to put up poorly painted 4x8 pieces first, and left. Day 5-  Actually framed the broken and bowed pieces after showing it to him.  Day 6- Again one man for a two man job. Redo lattice, using our drill without our permission. Trimmed it in a cheap plastic, with gaps between the supports and post, a very bad paint job, even using a used paint roller, and it was warping within hrs of them leaving. Also left expansion lines full of concrete and grout again after asking them to clean it yet again. They left all the work scraps in yard, didn’t pick up any of their mess, or trash .They didn’t even squirt the grout gravel out of the cracks, Just left.  Day 7- Call Pete’s after 10 am asking when they would be finished and was told that the job was done!!!!!! This is when I got very heated, we told them the whole thing is an “embarrassment”.  We told her we wanted to speak with Mr. Vigil himself on the matter, but she said he was unavailable.  The conversation was heated.  We expected at least a phone call from Mr. Vigil, but we heard nothing.  Our first meeting with Mr. Vigil was after business hours on Thursday.  They called at 6:30pm and hung up.   Then they called at 7:35 leaving a  message saying they were coming by to inspect the project.  I surmise they considered this permission to come onto my property. At 7:45 p.m. they show up and  I said they could look but to leave immediately afterward since I had my grandchild in the house.  I told them I would get in touch with them on Monday.  On Monday I finally made an appointment with Mr. Vigil.  Mr. Vigil shows up thirty minutes late for our 11:00 a.m. appointment, gets in my face, and threatens me with lawyers.  Then he accused us of not wanting to pay the rest of the bill and stormed off ranting about lawyers.  The last thing we heard loudly from them was “F*** you B****!!!”   Be sure to check out our pic’s , they speak louder than words.

Pete's did a great job of design. Their design person provided detailed documents and performed beyond our expectations. The price was fine. The initial installation began but was interrupted by a higher priority client. This was frustrating. Pete's crew finally returned a week later and the install was completed. There was a problem with concrete grout used around flagstone pavers which required a re-installation. This was done at no cost; however the grout again has deteriorated and is outside the one year warranty. The company did a fine job, but their commitment to completion was puzzling. Their design work was outstanding.
