"Thank you for your business"
"Pete's thank you for the opportunity to serve you!"
Rich and Tane Harper
"Pete's appreciates your business and want to thank you for the opportunity to serve you."
The quality of the work performed on the planters is awful. First, the brickwork is uneven. It looks like my 8-year old son did the work. Describing it as slapdash would be giving Pete's too much credit. The only way to describe it is that it is as if the person who didn't just didn't care how it came out. We are very disappointed. Second, to add insult to injury, Pete's left a mess. They did not clean up the excess mortar around the planters; just left it on the grass. Then, several days later, we discovered a pile of excess mortar dumped in the extreme back corner of our yard. We know it wasn't there before and can't think of how else it got there.
In sum, while the tree removal was done well, the brick work is a disaster. Simply put, Pete's should be ashamed of themselves for the poor quality of that work. My wife called to let them know what we thought of the (lack of) quality of the brickwork and, of course, was told that someone in management would get back to her. Well, you've probably already guessed ? we're still waiting for that call.
Excluding tax, the tree removal portion of the cost was $98.75. The brick repair -- if you can even call it that -- cost $446.40. Simply put, we were ripped off.
We gave Pete's C grades for price, responsiveness, and punctuality. Quoted prices (for good quality work) were fair, and they showed up on time. But what good is "please" and "thank you" if the work is terrible?
"Pete's strive in customer satisfaction . I spoke with {removed member name} and her concern from our conversation was the calcium (white spots) that were on the new brick installed. I assured her that the calcium in the concrete causes this. I'm terribly sorry if you were not happy with the installation. If you would give us the opportunity to correct any issues I will be happy to schedule at your request. Please contact Sandra @822-9822"

Work began with gusto while totally ignoring our supplied plan. The patio was only 50% of what the plan called for. Additionally, no slab was poured, bricks were placed on un-compacted sand. Plants were initially not installed per the design. Weed barrier was poorly installed. An existing hose bib was removed from the front of the house which I paid to have installed last year. They charged me to reinstall it.
The patio is now the correct size but no slab was poured. Instead they smeared a couple of inches of concrete over some loose earth and sand. We made nightly complaints via email to the home office. I photo documented the entire process. Some corrections were made while new mistakes were introduced. What should have taken 4 or 5 days dragged on for weeks. Some of the plants are already dead and I know we will have to fight with them next year to replace. I will be surprised if I don't have to completely redo the patio in a couple of years. They left our front yard in a mess, shorted us on crusher fines and damaged our driveway apron with their front loader. Some of these items were corrected. The driveway was not repaired.
The job site supervisor and the so called designer were dishonest. They accused me of changing specifications when their contract referenced my existing landscape plan. I asked several times to speak with Pete Jr. the owner and I was promised that he would stop by. He never showed up.
After numerous call backs and some additional corrections, we finally gave up and accepted the work. We paid them off today but I really should have taken them to court. If my wife and I did not work full time we would have, but it probably would have been a wash with the lost working hours and the headache of dealing with the court system.
I urge you to run far away from Pete's Landscaping! I made a serious mistake by not checking Angie's list first!
