It took some time to have the windows made once we placed the order, but the sales people gave us an accurate estimate for date they would be ready and scheduled the work several weeks in advance. They followed up a few days before the work was supposed to begin, told us who would be coming to the house, and how long it would take.
The crew did a tidy job of taking out the existing windows, including a couple of snags (the house was built in the 1970s and has a couple of not-quite-up-to-snuff renovations done on it). They fitted the windows cleanly and made sure they were snug in the framing and flush. They cleaned and caulked the interior and finished the exterior gaps with silver barrier. The worksite was left clean and there was no damage to any of the house interiors or to the outside.
We had a stucco crew finish the outside around the windows when we had the entire house restuccoed a few weeks later.

It was excellent. The installation team was excellent. They were very polite and very efficient. They cleaned everything up. It was an easy installation. I didn't really have to do anything. Everything was perfect. It took one day. I would absolutely use them in the future.

See above. All windows and sliding glass doors were replaced with low-e energy efficient double or triple pane glass. This last set of windows completed Pella  replacing all windows an door in my home and I have been very happy with the quality of the windows and the installation by various Pella crews.

The work turned out fantastic and I am very, very happy. It took a week to do everything and the first day was an extremely hot day. They were on time, efficient and tried to minimize the mess. They were cheerful and the only problem I had was that their brand new helper kept smashing our bushes underneath the windows. But they got him to stop doing that so other than that I thought they were fantastic. I recommend the installation group that Pella hired within the contract. They are more expensive, but in my opinion they are worth it.

I had half round windows which made the price go up. The price included a sliding glass door. The cost was between $20,000-$30,000. The installation was great and the salesman was fine. I did go back to them to give me a price on a front door. They gave me a price but there was never any follow up so I didn't buy the door from them because I guess they didn't want my business. I would recommend them because I like the products. I just don't like their sales techniques. I always want the price lower. I don't need any more windows. I still need a front door but since they are not too interested in me, I'm not interested in them.

The experience was fine. My wife could give you more details, but I would say we had no complaints and are satisfied. The ones we had were somewhat faded and we were hoping for a more energy efficient window. They were successful in doing that because it cooled the house down a little bit. We got exactly what we expected and did not have any issues at all. I don't think it was a screaming deal, but I thought it was a fair price.

They replaced about a half-dozen windows with low-E windows.

It has been giving me trouble lately. I called them to repair it or fix it. At first, it just wouldn't close. It would swing shut, but wouldn't latch. They sent someone out to fix it and it didn't get fixed. It held for a few days & then the lock started malfunctioning. I called them up & they said it would be 2-3 weeks for someone to come out, then the door handle fell off. They finally sent someone out to repair it. He said in order to fix the latching problem, all I need to do is screw in the pump tighter. That seemed to fix it for a little bit. The handle started coming off again. I have since had to mess with it to get it to latch and sit properly. I called them finally and said send someone out who knows what they're doing. They still said it will be 2-3 weeks. They are not coming out until Sept. 23rd. There is a 10 year warranty on the door.

I bought a house in Santa Fe that had plywood over a window that had been knocked out.  The first thing I wanted to do was get the window replaced.  Because it is an expensive house and because I wanted no problems, I went to the Pella showroom in Santa Fe.  I was told that it would take 30 days to get someone to come out and measure the window and an additional 30-45 days after that to get the window in to be installed.  Or, I could call a man they recommended who had been "certified" as a Pella installer and see if he could measure and order the window in less time.  Since I was anxious to get the plywood off the window, and since I do not live in Santa Fe, I was anxious to get the window ordered, and thereafter installed, as soon as possible.

The guy was able to come over the next day.  He took the measurements but called me the next day to ask me to get another measurement for him because he had forgotten to get it.  He finally came back over and measured again.  He never asked me what I wanted and, when I suggested that the glass needed to be tinted, he said that we would put a film on it after it arrived to cloud it, since the window was in the bathroom.  I was not surprised when he wanted a deposit, but I was surprised when he wanted a personal check, rather than for me to pay Pella directly.  I called Pella to make sure he had ordered a window, which he had.

Around a month later, the window arrived and I came to Santa Fe to be there when it was installed.  The guy tore out the old window frame and then started getting stressed and angry.  Since I had a hole in my wall, I decided to stay quiet.  As it turned out, he had ordered the wrong window in so  many ways.  First, he had bought a new window, not a replacement, so he tore out stucco and adobe to try to get the wings to attach.  Next, it turned out that, since the window was 12 inches from a shower, it should have been protected glass -- he hadn't ordered that.  The outside color did not match any other windows or doors.  It opened, but it opens going the wrong direction.  Plus, it is so big, you can use it as a door.  And, from the outside, the window is about 8 inches off the ground..  Had I had someone professional to help me, they would have probably suggested a smaller window, which will replace this one. By day two, the workman was getting abusive and racist.  He dug out still more stucco and adobe, so it is now torn out about 4-5 inches all around the window.  Then he decides he is through, leaving a mess.  I was getting very scared of him so as soon as he got out of the house, I got the dogs, locked the door, got in the car and drove to Pella.  I told them I did not think they should recommend the guy any more.  They sent out one of their installers, who looked at the job and just shook his head.  He said that this guy had snowed a department head at Pella as to what he could do, but the installer knew he was just blowing smoke.  Not only was the guy not "certified", he was not licensed as a New Mexico contractor.  Pella ordered me safety glass to replace the glass that "would break in to shards if I fell in it coming out of the shower."

I went to Pella to get a good product and to have no problems.  It has been a nightmare from the very beginning.  The window is still in the wall until I determine how to replace it.  There are gouges all around the inside and outside of the frame, where he tore out the adobe and stucco.  The window is so large, you can see me in the bathtub from the street.  He did not order clouded glass.

Management has not been helpful.  I am out money and am highly stressed to have gone through this.  For them to recommend a non-licensed man who is as unprofessional as this guy is, is really, really bad.  I will need repairs to my wall, inside and out, to the tune of around $2000 -- just because I wanted something good and professional.  I have Pella French doors in my home and love them.  A representative came to the house to see the window last month.  He was pretty appalled by the installation.  It shows chicken wire on the inside and is not water-proof on the outside. Since then, he has ceased answering my calls to him.

Pella's card says "Viewed to be the Best."  That is always what I thought.  I do not know where I will buy my next windows, but I would not suggest going here.  To date, there has been NO action on Pella's part.  I am currently writing reviews, and will seek out legal advice in the coming weeks.

This is the second time we've purchased from Pella. Prices are high but the work and the windows are excellent.  The first round was for $57,000 worth of windows and door. I was very satisfied. The installation was on time, done quickly and cleanly. Very friendly and responsible crew. There were some tiny adjustments that needed to be done after the installation and they were done quickly and with out hesitation.

"The entire Pella Windows and Doors Southwest team thanks you for your business and for sharing your Pella-experience with the Angie's List community. Your feedback is what drives me in my daily duties as a Pella Sales Specialist, to find the right products, installations and overall solutions for each and all of my customers. This customer chose Pella's Designer Series wood-clad windows and patio doors with triple-pane glass and Slimshades between-the-glass. This series offers one of the most energy efficient and innovative fenestration products proudly- manufactured in the United States today. The exterior clad color is Stormy Blue and the interior is a custom-stain applied in our Albuquerque location's professional paint-booth. Special Thank You - goes to Marty Garcia of Target Builders (Pella-Expert Installer for 10+ years) and his seasoned crew for making these projects possible. Jeff Reynolds, Pella Sales Specialist served this customer on both projects. We forked out the money for top of the line Pella Windows in our house 6 years ago. We have always been happy with our decision. Our Windows are extremely energy efficient and look great and function beautifully. We finally bit the bullet last year to replace our six 50 year old sliding doors in the back side of our house. Pella is very comparable in price to other top window and door companies, and when you actually buy the windows directly from the company (and not through the home stores where you have to find your own contractor/installer), the installation and service is superb. Jeff Reynolds, our salesman both times, was great. 2 sets of our doors had to fill a 10 foot opening, which is no small feat. The doors are solid and beautiful, and I have never regretted spending the money on them since.
Response from Pella Windows and Doors
"Wow!!! Thank you for sharing your Pella-experience with the Angie's List community. It is my pleasure to have served as your "Pella Fella" on both projects. As I recall, your old windows were steel casements and the giant sliding doors were also steel - extremely inefficient and difficult to operate. The conversion to Pella's Designer Series wood/clad windows and patio doors provides excellent energy efficiency as well as the beauty and benefit of between-the-glass window fashions. Thank you again for your business and your feedback. Jeff has served Pella since 2004 and can be reached by phone (505) 918-6339."

The process was very soomth and professional from start to finish.  Kate helped us select the right window arrangement for our specific situation.  Gary showed up when he was supposed to to do the final measuring and Juan Muller of Jax Builders was right on time to do the instllation.  We especially appreciated  Juan's explanation of the options and choices for our unusual timber frame/ adobe construction.  His suggestions were right on and we are very pleased with the results.

Anthony came to my home and gave me all the details regarding the new door and window, took measurements and arranged for the next visit for the finalization of measurements and order.  It was less than a month from the order placement to the installation.
The two installers worked quickly, removing the old door and glass, and installed the new fiberglass composite sliding door and window in about 5 hours.  Only issue was they did not bring enough of the trim pieces and had to wait for more to be brought to the jobsite.
The new installation looks so much better then the original!  I would use Pella again without reservation, a great product.

Contacted Pella (this is the third time we've used them).  Rep. came out and discussed what we wanted, measured, and quoted a price.  (They offer 10% off to members of Angie's list, and they also had a special of $750 off labor costs.  I'm sure we could find a cheaper price, but their product is top quality and their installers have always been professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.)  An installation date was set about 30 days later.  They contacted us again after door arrived, verifying installation date.  The morning of installation, installer contacts us about 20 minutes prior to arriving (we have two dogs that we need to cage prior to their arrival).  Of course, they removed existing glass doors (2nd story), installed new ones.  Put new molding around doors on the inside, with metal molding on outside, and sealant.  Once again, they pointed out the lack of insulation from when our new house was built, and that was corrected.  They cleaned up their work, took away the old doors (and old slider curtains we had) and completed their work in about four hours.  Several hours later, their supervisor came by to verify work and insure we were happy with the job, making sure there were no issues.  We love our new doors.  With a Western exposure, we've noticed the difference in temperature (quality glass and improved insulation) as well as the ability to make the room DARK by having the curtains drawn.  We will use them again if we need any window or door work, and would strongly recommend them to anyone who's interested.

Excellent local sales representative in Santa Fe, although due to her need to travel around the state was not always immediately available to meet to dicuss details of the project.  Excellent service on location after the installation to tweak handles, locks and hinges.  Our first Pella window were installed about 10 years ago, Argon gas insulated, and still perfoming well.

Everything went beautifully with this company.  My original consultation was at their showroom.  This was nice, because I could actually see samples in person.  Pella sent two different reps to my home (on two separate occasions) to measure and ensure a correct fit.  The installation team arrived right on time.  The work was completed in about three hours, which amazed me because they took out the entire door frame and all the molding, replacing everything with new.  They cleaned up after themselves as well.  I love my new door, and would recommend Pella!

"Thank you very much for sharing your Pella experience with Angie's List. This customer chose an oak-grain fiberglass entry door system, factory-stained inside and out. The fiberglass entry doors are an excellent way to have the look of wood without the high maintenance of wood, not to mention, increased energy efficiency. We were very pleased with he service from start to finish. Jeff does a great job explaining the features and was very patient with us while we explored several different options and price point. The installers also did a great job, were very polite and took great care to not leave a mess. They have been very quick to come out and correct small issues and are very friendly about it. We have quite a few more to replace and will definitely use Pella. I really liked that they did not pressure us to do all windows at the same time and w can do a couple here and there when money allows.
Response from Pella Windows and Doors
"Thank you very much for sharing your Pella experience with Angie's List. Doing the project in phases is commonly done and allows the customer to see the quality of Pella's products, installed by Pella-professional without committing to the greater project. I and Pella are confident that the customer will not hesitate to call us back for the next phase. This customer chose the Impervia (fiberglass) windows, a wise choice for our harsh NM weather fluctuations. All Pella sales representatives must be professional and cannot pressure the customer to make purchases. Our brand, our products and our professional employees and installers are what make Pella - viewed to be the best. We look forward to serving you again soon."
