"We have reached out to the customer multiple times and have apologized numerous times for our technicians mistake. We contacted her immediately upon learning of the situation and offered to take care of her needs immediately and at no cost. Unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to right our wrongs. We apologize publicly again for your experience. -David Kaminski"
I used the company before and as usual find they are honest and forthright. They'll be back after the furnace part is ordered.
The bid was 50 percent less than the one from another top contractor who seemed to know nothing about HVAC.
I had the work done during the time and day specified and it was completed according to the bid.
Afterword the house was comfortable for the first time, the sound reduced and air pressure no longer a problem. Most of all I did't have to worry about co2 poisoning any longer.
The original problems of a broken toilet handle and a leak under the bathroom basin were fixed, but now the bathroom faucet didn't work, so we called them back. A couple came on three separate occasions (always different men) to work with the "core" inside the faucet that distributes hot and/or cold water. After the first fix, hot water came out of the cold side and vice versa. Called them back, and two different workmen came and "fixed" it, saying it had been put in backwards. After that, only lukewarm water came out. After a final call, hot or cold water are now unpredictable. When I mentioned that we might need a new faucet, they never agreed or disagreed or discussed where to get one or whether they would install it. They just said "maybe" and left it at that as though they had done what they originally came for and gotten paid for and weren't interested in doing any more. So while the original leak was fixed, we now have a problem we did not have before, and they showed no interest in fixing it. Other than that, they were always polite and prompt, but I suspect their unprofessional crew would not even know how to install a new faucet, so I would not pursue it.
David Kaminski (Owner) and his helper arrived at the scheduled time and immediately began dismantling the swamp cooler and the original low-efficiency gas furnace. Each piece was loaded on their trailer as it was removed so there was no job site mess.
They were prepared to do this job from start to finish in one day so they didn't have to leave the site to go buy parts and supplies.
Existing conduit was left on the roof for the electrician to supply the 220 V power for the A/C unit on the roof. I knew from the very beginning (estimate appointment) that David would not do the electrical work for the A/C unit; but he would work with whomever I hired. After the electrician's work was completed, David came back to finalization the A/C installation.
The scope of work included installing a furnace shut-off unit if the condensation line failed to drain. During the extreme weather in January and February, 2011, the line froze (in the attic) on three different occasions so the temp in my house would be 50 degrees. David responded the same day to each of my service call requests. It was decided to run the condensation line through the laundry room wall to the drain for the washing machine. That solved the problem. David gave me several filters for the furnace until I could find a retail supplier here in town.
David gave me a hands-on tutorial for programming the new Pro1 digital thermostat.
He also worked with me to prepare the paperwork required to qualify for the US Stimulus Tax Credit for HVAC installations. This install also qualified for a NM Gas Co Energy Efficiency Rebate. It was extra work for him at no additional cost.
Installation of this equipment has enhanced my seasonal comfort level, as well as added significant resale value to my home.
I highly recommended David to several of my coworkers and they all were extremely satisfied with the cost, the quality of work and his professionalism.
